"Reasons this course is somehow near a 4: (1) terrain + some fun, challenging shots; (2) Denver area courses are generally dry & limited compared to anything east of the 100th meridian.
You know your course has issues when: players refer to sections as "The Murder Woods" or "Turd Town"; or you get kicked off because of a shooting; or the upkeep gives off strong Chernobyl vibes.
This place could be great with proper maintenance. As of right now, the quality appears to be going backwards. "

"Just played this course for the first time in about 2 years. Absolutely terrible. Short broken tee pads, no signage to tell you where the next hole is, 5 times you cross someone else’s fairway, 8 times you are throwing directly uphill, mostly at wide open uninteresting basket placements. Hole 5 literally throws directly over 7s teepad. Are we even serious? So many opportunities to lose a disc on almost every hole. Blind shots near water, no landing zones, this needs completely rebuilt."

"It’s better than nothing, but goodness does this need a LOT of money sunk into it to make it halfway decent. Which, judging by the immediate area, isn’t going to happen. Signage is garbage, teepads are cracked or covered in sand, broken glass and beer cans everywhere, criss-crossing fairways, nonsensical greens and layouts, too much chance to lose discs in sewer water..the list goes on. Also, while we were throwing from the back corner (I think on 8 coming back?) some kids ran up from the bridge and nabbed one of our discs that was thrown over the hill where we couldn't see it from our vantage point. First time playing here and everyone i encountered veteran and new to the course was confused about where to go. Could be 4+ stars if navigating is easier and would help with safety. Something simple as reflective tape on a piece metal on the basket pointing to the next teepad could help and wouldn't cost much. Use. The disc app gps to navigate."

"Solid course. Most elevation I've ever seen on a park course. Physically challenging for that alone. Lots of hyzers, not a ton of very long holes. Distance listed is accurate, but not the whole story as you're usually throwing 20 to 40 feet uphill."

"Signage is terrible. Spent an extra hour on the course just trying to locate the next tee.
This is NOT lower badlands. It is not a wooded course. Don't get confused like us and some other groups did. Most of the shots were almost identical. Little variation in the course. "

"Absolute worst course in Denver. Swamp is just perfect for losing at least 3 discs every time you play. And you'll just LOVE the scorching desert heat. Prepare to spend more than half your time looking for discs, slipping in muck, getting bloody from branches whilst hunting for your last throw, and all around just wondering where the next hole is, since some baskets are inexplicably just not even there. I play this course every few years before remembering how terrible it is. Abandon this one."

"Mostly wide open course with a few trees per hole. Only a couple shots through thick trees and a small pond to avoid on 10 - 12. It's a great course to practice on; technique, distance, approach, whatever you need to work on. Mornings can be wet from the sprinklers and it's pretty exposed to the sun. "

"Not sure of this is the layout for the 303 Open but the course plays pretty long. At this point, I'm not really sure if I'm understanding the justification for this course being the test event for the DGPT. There's trash scattered throughout the course and the water looks like an ideal place to find a 2 headed frog. If this park was a dedicated DG location, I could see the appeal, but there's a car tire sitting in the pond near hole 2, which is a true sign of people not caring about the park. "

"Not good. Course peeps not doing any maintenance, nor have they recruited the next generation to take this course over and keep it up. Many tee pads in bad shape, some with big ankle-breaker holes at the end. Used to be a grassy park, now just weeds and dirt. Pond is full of litter and disgusting. Goodbye Badlands. Too bad. "

"Nice elevation, good baskets, good tees.
Poor design, very hard to find the next hole, course maps are incorrect.
Overall this course misses some key aspects of being a great course, however since I was visiting from Ohio it was a good chance to play with some elevation and lots of wind without venturing outside the city limits. "
