"Very tight gaps and punishing woods. "

"Great 18 hole course! Love the water carry on hole 10! Only thing would be I almost rolled my ankle on a few drives because I’d the tee boxes. Maybe put some rakes on the tees??"

"Some of the holes here are very unrefined, as if they tried to use a nature trail to make a disc golf course. Signs are a bit too generous on the layout of the holes, making this course difficult to see without having played before. "

"A very different course from the old 9-holer that used to be here. I was pleasantly surprised by the well designed and challenging lines on many of the holes. This course is tough! Especially if you get off the fairway on the new par 4’s. Signage is good but tee pads leave a lot to be desired. Some rubber mats would be perfect."

"Great tough course, will absolutely eat your lunch if you're not regularly hitting your tight gaps off the tee. Very narrow fairways, offers no mercy if you're not throwing dead straight with controlled finish. Tee pads are completely fine, they're hard-packed gravel, sure beats slippery neglected concrete pads"

"The tee pads are terrible even if they just had the little rubber mats it would be better other than that it would be 4 to 4 and a half stars hopefully they get them fixed at some point."

"I’m super excited to finally have an 18 hole course in WF. Great change to the old 9 holes. Fun tight lines with different shot shapes and a beautiful water carry on 10. Obviously it’s still new but it would be a 5 star with concrete pads instead of sand and if the fairways were cleaned up just a little. My wife would rate this a 1 star because this course is going to take all of my time from her. Thanks Forest Ridge team!"

"Such a beautiful course with great terrain. The cons are the teepads are slick and uneven and the layout has players walk backwards on the fairways on a few holes which is a lil dangerous. Hole 10 is the signature one fasho. Thanks for letting me play."

"Very tight fairways. The course could be better if there were a handful of trees removed. I will also call the fairways very natural (some are not well defined) . Tee pads could be better also. With all of that said, I will continue to play here. If I can shoot under par here, I can shoot under par on most any course."

"The 9 hole layout from previous years was a blast, I’m glad they saw the interest people took and expanded. Beginner friendly course with a good mix of open holes and tight lines. Almost the whole course is wooded, be careful!"

"Watch out for holes! There are some as deep as a foot covered in leaves when you start to get a little off the fairways."

"Love how the course design highlights the beautiful scenery with a variety of challenging but fair lines. Great signage and baskets. Lumpy, uneven tee pads are the major weakness - get some JayPo pads or concrete and we'll have an outstanding course!"

"Wooded with some real tight gaps. You will need both a forehand and backhand to score well. I did like some Par 4 holes require you to hit a landing area for your next shot. It would be nice to have some markers to show gaps better. Tee pads are gravel. Also lots of holly trees in the rough which can be a pain."

"I absolutely love what they’re doing with this course, however I really want to see concrete tee pads. I understand the want for it to be less intrusive however the gravel spills out, requires maintenance and ends up being much more invasive and damaging to the park. Beyond that, I’d highly recommend this course to anyone for some challenging woods golf."

"MAKE IT PERMANENT "

"This is an advanced level course with tight, long holes that will bruise your ego. Transitions between holes are long but clearly marked. Tee signage is outstanding and the one alternate tee welcome though at present the lake is so low it's barely in play. Much has been made about the sand tees but I actually prefer them. Still they will require constant maintenance. A real pity that this course is seasonal as it will be my home course."

"Amazing course. Tough, tight lines through the woods coupled with gorgeous shots. Only complaint is the gravel tee boxes, lumpy and not good footing. "

"Pretty nice course but the tee pads aren't great and some of the grass needs cutting. Tough course with very tight fairways but great variety between holes. "

"This course has a lot of potential. Wish they could keep it permanent full time because it would solve the shortcomings. Pros: Holes that are reachable and rewarding for most players if you hit your lines. Nice signage. Good design, no repetitive holes. Cons: TEEPADS - This is my #1 gripe. I understand it’s temporary, but the footing was so bad that it definitely affects your shot. The rough is bad. I’m not deducting points for this, but there’s many annoying small limbs in the way."

"Excellent course! However, it is difficult to spot other players on numerous holes due to the forest and elevation changes. Maybe install some bells or poles at key waypoints/baskets? Will be back for more DG, and to stop at the beer store down the street!"

"There is potential for a really nice course here with a little bit of work. However, the tee pads are so bad that it makes it difficult to judge everything else because they prevent the course from being played the way it's intended."

" A few holes are gems but a few feel like they need a few additional trees cleared to have fair lines. Scenic but challenging NC woods course. Wish this course was open a bit more. Only open 5 months of the year which includes winter. Really appreciate having an 18 hole course in WF. "

"The course went from a very casual 9 hole to a brutal 18. The tee pads are pretty rough and kill all momentum, maybe they just need to be worn in for all I know "

"Its a beautiful course with more scoreable holes on the front 9 with technical shots on almost every hole. The back 9 you really see the teeth and level of difficulty with a lot of placement shots. Since its new the teepads could definitely use some more flattening and compacting. Overall its a great course for this area"

"Tons of fun holes and shot shapes. A lot better than the old 9 hole layout and they kept all the good holes from that layout. Overall a fair course that is plenty challenging to go under par. "Challenging. Mostly tight wooded fairways. Multiple paths on several holes. Nice alternate for 10 if you don’t like the water shot. Make sure you get over the rough on 18."

"Really nice course with some good variety and some very tricky par 4s. Facilities and baskets are excellent. Parking is easy. The *only* complaints I could possibly have are the gravel tees and the fairways on some holes are a little messy. But honestly those things are so minor. I will be frequenting this course for the fall and hope to one day see it become permanent "
