Description
Designed by PDGA Hall of Famer David McCormack #2873, Big Chuck DGC is an 18-hole double-loop course spread throughout nearly 20 acres of the new Veterans Memorial Park. The course was named in honor of retired judge Charles “Big Chuck” Miel. The front 9 is shorter and more technical, providing great introductory play for beginners. The back 9 is longer and more challenging for those looking to test their abilities. The Rotary Club of Stanton spearheaded the project, providing the funding and direction to make this course a reality for the community and guests. The Central Montcalm Community Foundation provided grant funding for the cement tee pads and benches. Each hole is sponsored by local businesses and nonprofits throughout the Central Montcalm community. The way-finding signs were gifted to the course from the Montcalm County Road Commission. The baskets are Gateway Disc Sports Titan Pro-24. Plans for a future baskets are developing. Please reach out to the city manager for any suggestions on how to continue improving this course: [email protected] Parking at the old elementary school or gravel parking lot to the north.
