History
The Fair Oaks Park Disc Golf Course was the result of a year-long planning effort by Upper Moreland Parks & Recreation to introduce the sport to the community and gauge local interest. The goal was to create a fun, beginner-friendly layout that would bring residents out to enjoy a new kind of outdoor recreation while testing the feasibility of a larger, permanent course in the future. The project was coordinated by Spencer Cartier of Upper Moreland Parks & Recreation, with valuable support from the department’s maintenance crew. Special recognition goes to Ken Alexander, a longtime maintenance team member and passionate disc golfer with over 25 years of experience, whose input and enthusiasm were instrumental in shaping the layout. Fair Oaks Park’s natural setting provided the perfect environment for a compact, accessible course — a space designed to be welcoming to newcomers while still engaging for experienced players. The course stands as a great example of community collaboration and the growing momentum of disc golf in Upper Moreland Township.
