Course name
Fireside Inn, 18730 Fireside Hwy
Course location
Presque Isle, Michigan
Headline
Short, technical course on beautiful Grand Lake. No baskets or chains, just classic wooden poles painted red.
Description
Hole 1: Start between the Fireside Inn Lodge and Cabin 14 which is to the right of the lodge if looking at it from the lake. Tee off down a path into the woods. Pin is on the right when you come out of the clearing at the end of the path protected by telephone poles. Hole 2: Walk down the path from the first pin and turn right into the cleared out tee area. Throw into the clearing for a wide open look at the pin. Hole 3: Walk from the pin of Hole 2 to the green shed. Tee off from next to the shed throwing it down the dirt path. The pin is in front of another shed down the path and to the left. A tomahawk over the shed or wide hyzer down the path into the clearing will give you the best look at the pin. Hole 4: Walk from the pin of Hole 3 to the corner of the gravel roads near the Fireside Inn welcome sign. Tee off from behind the sign and shoot down the path. Best shot is either a straight show down the path or a forehand/anhyzer around the foliage on the left hooking right towards the clearing in front of the pin. Hole 5: Walk back down the path towards the Hole 4 tee box and cross the street. Go to the right of the garage on the corner and throw from before the septic tank into the clearing. The pin hooks right from the tee box but is a straight shot if thrown into the clearing. There is a pin further on the right that is for Hole 7. Hole 6: Walk from the pin of Hole 5 into the clearing about 20 yards past. There may or may not be an enormous brush pile for burning depending on the time of year. Tee off from that clearing back into the woods straight down towards the opening behind Cabin 1. Hole 7: Tee off between Cabin 1 and 2 throwing into the same wooded area as hole 5. Hole 8: Walk from the pin of Hole 7 onto the gravel road and turn left walking towards the large clearing with the tee box for Hole 6. Throw from before the two roots in the gravel. If there is a brush pile, the pin is in a cleared out area that hugs the road in the back right of the clearing. If no brush pile you should be able to see it. Hole 9: Walk from the pin of Hole 8 and back around the brush pile (or not) to the tee box for Hole 9. There should be a sign near a stump marking the tee box. Throw into the clearing. The pin is protected by trees on the right side of the dirt/gravel fairway after it hooks left. Play everything as a par 3 or play 3-3-3-3-4–5-3-3-4 as course signs allow.
