Course name
Lake Hāwea Disc Golf
Course location
Lake Hawea, New Zealand
Headline
A natural, rustic course with a variation of fairway types
Description
Parking is on the side of the road. Walk through the gate towards the Lake and turn right to the first tee (approx 200m) Please note: This is private land with no rubbish bins, so please take all rubbish out with you. Because of the long grass/fire risk please do not smoke. The course starts in the fields before dropping down into the “Gladstone Gap”, along the rock dam and through the manuka bushes, then works its way back up onto the fields in a loop. Fairways and pathways are cut out of the long grass. In summer months you may want to wear gaiters. Easier B tees are marked on holes 2, 7, 8, 16 & 17 All fences are OB. New players please see hole notes on Udisc Map (outlined below) When playing hole 2 - the island on hole 16 is a hazzard area. Hole 4 has a rope outline along both sides of the dam e.g. if you land off the dam, play your next shot where it lands and +1 as a penalty. Holes 10 & 14 share a basket (players on hole 10 give way to 14 please). Hole 16 is surrounded by a grass berm, this is an island. If you miss the island play your next shot where it landed +1 as a penalty (Hole 16s B tee is on top of the large tree stump).
