The Oregon Trail DGC
Course location
Bend, Oregon
Headline
Very challenging object course, prominently featuring a gorge and lots of trees. About 4,000 ft above sea level.
Description
Originally known as “Gorgeous” because of it’s terrain. Most holes play up, down, and around a gorge. There is lots of elevation change, and it WILL give your legs a workout. Bring plenty of liquids, snacks, and a decent pair of shoes! Long pants are also useful to prevent cuts from brush/thorns/debris.
The main dirt road plays as an OB river and comes in to play on holes 7,8,10,11,12,15,16,17. On holes 10 and 16, road and beyond plays as OB.
Hole 16 plays as an island, marked off in a semi-circle by sticks and flags. If you miss the island, proceed to the drop zone (just right of center before the island). You must continue putting from the drop zone until you make your putt or it lands in bounds. If you are on the island and putt OB, take your next shot from where it went out.
The burn pits play as a hazard, meaning you play it as it lies with a one stroke penalty. These come into play on holes 7,11,12,15,17.
