About the course
Eagles Crossing Championship Course
The Championship Course is a world-class, par-70, 18-hole layout designed to challenge seasoned and beginner disc golfers with its technical demands, varied terrain, and breathtaking aesthetics. Nestled within 400 rolling acres near Hawk Point, Missouri. The course is rated among the top in the world. As you enter through a towering 25-foot pergola, you're greeted by nine stocked lakes shimmering in the sunlight, wildflower meadows, winding creeks, and whimsical dinosaur and safari animal sculptures.Wildlife abounds: bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, blue herons, coyotes and many deer make this retreat feel like a nature preserve as much as a disc golf destination.
Design & Development
The course was laid-out in 2020 by hall of famer David McCormack, after many weeks of trial and test play. Under the direction of designer Phillip Samuels and owner, the course build became filled with creativity and excitement. The results is a truly magical property. Using heavy earthmoving equipment, tons of stonework, and extra-large concrete tee pads, 9 lakes and the development of the famous Abyss nub-less basket. The result is a meticulously crafted course of exceptional quality like no other. Many players claim that all 18 of the 18 holes are of signature quality. Every aspect of building the course was completely rethought from scratch to create a next level experience. The estimated construction cost exceeded 5 million dollars.
Course Layout & Features
The Championship Course spans over 11,000+ feet and winds through a mix of open fields, rolling hills, wooded areas, and around and over several ponds and lakes. Many holes feature significant elevation changes, tight technical lines, water hazards, and white-stak¬ed out-of-bounds (OB) areas — making precision and strategy critical. The first hole, for example, is a “links-style” par 4 that stretches from roughly 495 feet up to 909 feet depending on tee and basket positions. With OB on both sides of the fairways and frequent wind gusts, makes this hole even more challenging. There are three tee pads for each hole. (red, white, and blue), so the course can be played at different lengths and difficulties. The tee pads are extra large and run up friendly, helping players launch powerful drives. Forget about chain outs, the Abyss nub-less basket is a disc catching wonder. Nothing escapes the Abyss.
Challenge & Difficulty
The Blue tees are regarded as “very hard.” Many holes require not just distance, but skillful shot-shaping, as water, elevation, and OB constantly threaten errant throws. Hole variety is a hallmark: some holes are open bombers, while others force you through tight tree tunnels. There are uphill throws, downhill throws, and many holes that flirt with water or OB lines. The mix keeps things fresh and constantly tests different skills — drivers, mid-range control, touch shots, and nerve with tricky putts. If you are not an advance player, the Red tees will challenge and thrill.
