Description
The Lake Lure Parks, Recreation, & Lake Department has partnered with Jay McCarthy of Disc Golf Design Group, the Western North Carolina Disc Golf Association, and Dan Bragdon of Camp Lurecrest to provide Lake Lure with a temporary disc golf course at the Lake Lure Green Space, formerly the Lake Lure Municipal Golf Course. Mostly open 9 hole course with 3 tee pad options from beginner (Red) to intermediate (White) to advanced/pro (Blue) . Course is under construction as of Jan 2026. The Lake Lure Greenspace is a multiuse space. Please yield to pedestrians and only throw discs when the area is clear. The Town of Lake Lure is currently undergoing the process of developing its Comprehensive Plan which is expected to be completed in July of 2026 and has the possibility of including a permanent disc golf fixture. Good stewardship of this temporary course could benefit that plan.
