About the course
Set in the woods and rolling prairie of Charles Langer Family Park. 28 hole course featuring deep wooded holes, dense rough, wide open prairie, water hazards, an elevated basket, dual concrete tee pads and rotating pin placements. The Bird's Ruins Disc Golf Course is located just outside of Marshall on Canal Road. Fun Fact: The name Bird's Ruins was actually the original name of Marshall back in 1837. The name lasted for more than a decade. Hole 1-4 is across the road from the parking lot. Hole 5 next to parking lot. Hole 28 tee is next to parking lot, throw across the water to the peninsula. Bird’s Ruins Disc Golf Course now requires a permit for disc golf patrons. Permits can be purchased at the course through self registration or online. $5/day or $20/year. Visit Facebook.com/RebelDGC for up to date information provided by Rebel Disc Golf Club or contact Marshall Parks Department. 3 standard camp sites and 1 large group site available for public use. Excellent winter course. Not beginner friendly. Great mix of open/wooded/mixed/hilly land. Much more modern (and best) design compared to the rest of the Madison area courses. Features some memorable shots, like hole 1 alt pin on the island, the downhill wooded shot with water behind and podium basket, the tree farm tunnel just to name a few. Obviously the rough is rough here, but in the summer with controlled shots, the fairway is wide enough to play safe if you don't want to lose discs. And if you're lucky, Chance the disc finding dog may come by and find your disc for you!
