I love every tee pad area. Nice long tees with woodchips surrounding it. Its a nice walk and really peaceful. Its my new favorite course. I really enjoyed the short walk from the parking lot as a way to loosen up after being driving. Just a heads up only bathroom is in the parking lot. Alot of hard work made this beautiful place happen and I'm grateful to the crew that helped build it.

Like everything around here, the elevation combined with the woods makes it a real technical challenge. An excellent course with pretty reasonable birdie opportunities. Just the nature of having a course on a mountainside that can't really be mowed - but the brush in the summer at least is pretty thick. In July and August, plan on bushwhacking to the basket and between some holes. The OB is pretty mean since everything is lined with trees and you're throwing right along the walking path. One little kick off the tree in the wrong direction and you're probably going out of bounds. Just adds to the difficulty! I'd warn that even though the par and distance on this layout rates an intermediate difficulty, throwing up the hill through the trees makes many of the par 3s play over 300 feet of power.

Lots of fun, some lines a bit odd but really enjoyable technical course. Highly recommend as a warm up before playing Moon or Grindstone.
@glitchjb
Great course, I love the location, short walk to get to it.
@firebird78s
Nice change of pace from the other courses. Hard par 3s with tight gaps. Attackable course but can be punishing. Also wild horses
@yeeeyee
Beautiful and challenging course, definitely worth checking out
@deeazz3
Course is amazing! Not beginner friendly, not cart friendly unless small cart. Need practice shape shooting this is the place. Bring extra towel to clean your discs!!
@owenrae
This is my favorite course in the Rudisio area. Everything about it was great. However, someone had rolled the big logs onto the tees on most of the back 9 and being the first of the day to play it we tried rolling them all back off and into the normal position but don't we just got off the tee. My suggestion is to stake both sides so they can't be rolled again.
@bbrunerbob
Excellent new course, some difficult lines, lots of chance for roll aways.
@jakemascarenas1
Fantastic little track, well worthy of Tim Selinske Masters.
@linkken58
Great use of side hills for both forehand and backhand. Smaller trees more of an issue! The wild horses are beautiful!
@barry706
New T pads, new hole signs, but no arrow designation for next hole. No arrows on baskets. Thinking that may be coming soon. Lot of narrow fairways and bunches of OB.
@kjhardyman
Pretty course. A whole lot of don’t fade downhill over and over. Not cart or stroller friendly unless you want to add a lot of extra work to your round. Really a long walk in and out. Still fun and bonus if the wildlife wanders through.
@stevehardyman
Long walk in and out, not really cart friendly, it’s usable but easier to carry a bag. You’ll get really dirty playing this course. Overall, very nice course
@budreaux
Challenging and fun mountain course. Some lines need to get cleaned up, but overall a beautiful walk and well designed.
@lctafoya
Great course. Lots of hard work put in especially after a fire affected the area. Maps with updated dog legs would be helpful. A bit of a walk from the parking lot to hole 1 but I didn’t mind.
@andyblanco1
I've played many courses in the past 35 years. This is one of the better new courses I've seen in NM. It is well groomed with excellent T-pads. The tight fareways are the challenge on this short course. This course flows real well from one hole to the next and is easy to follow. The back nine is a little repetitive from hole 12 to 16 but overall, it is a well designed and challenging course.
@ripitnick
This is a blissful par 3 course just added to Ruidoso. Great variety of shots including a plethora of backhand throws for right handers. Appreciable flow. Easy to navigate. Manicured tee pads 🤌. Some holes have very unforgiving gaps / clusters of trees but if you have the arm you can bypass all of it with a thumber over the top. If you’re new to the game this is as good as it gets. If you’re advanced you will find a variety of shots that will scratch that creative itch of yours. Let it rip!

Ruidoso is New Mexico’s disc golf Mecca, and Alto Lake is a prime example of why. This beautiful and secluded course blends excellent lines with a mix of technical challenges and rewarding birdie opportunities. Newer players will find a fair but demanding test, while experienced players can capitalize on well-placed shots. With a combination of tight wooded lines and more open fairways, Alto Lake stands out as a must-play course for anyone visiting Ruidoso.
