@qbiinz
Most landing zones are covered in very tall grass. You can have a great shot, be standing 1 ft from your disc and still lose it. Would be great if the upkeep was better
@polanin
This course truly has the potential to be special. But in its current form it’s hard to rate it above a 3. The combination of many pedestrians, bikers, and children, combined with unhoused folks lurking, with the occasional off-lease dog, mix for a hazardous and treacherous experience. The course itself is frankly great and the holes are fun, with the water a big part of it. The scene is also nice. But when you decide to play - and you should - perhaps don’t come on a Saturday or Sunday morning.
@zwiebe91
Would be 3.5 but fact is it’s the only course in the area and deserves its flowers for what it is - a fun park course with water in play.
@paullovestacos
Tight low lines around the bay and thru the park. Beware of pedestrians and other disc golfers on this narrow course with blind shots and water carries.
@sammaurer
Great and challenging course with beautiful views. Not beginner friendly. Be prepared for high wind, water carries, tight fairways, punishing rough, and pedestrians. Still worth playing!! You need to focus on each shot, and turn the disc left and right. Be prepared to wait for walkers, and bring some good shoes for some mucky areas.
@willwheatley
The good: unique hole designs, a good mix of left and righty holes. Nice views playing alongside a nice body of water. Also has views out over the bay. The bad: very busy park with people buzzing all over the place High winds Every hole that plays over water is a “righty” hole poor course design, having to walk back a lot The ugly: It is in a public park in Oakland… so… really high grass, swallows disc whole poor upkeep overall homeless camps/trash are all over the course
@cbrock777
I know it's historic, and I'm a Bay Area guy, but I am only willing to play here maybe once a year. Make sure you bring discs that float, or discs that you don't mind losing to the lake. Beautiful views, CA sunshine, and constant bay breeze make it bearable/enjoyable.
@gkulaga
Too many cyclists & pedestrians & water hazards for my liking. Lost 24 discs
@wiicsp
AP is a unique experience. Given the lack of space in the park the course is surprisingly well laid out. There are lots of water shots and it’s always windy, just adds to the challenge. Bring a telescoping stick to get your discs back.
@hughes707
Bring a water disc
@lukehammer
Be prepared to lose a disk or two. Lots and lots of water hazards. It’s one of the more challenging courses in the area even though you wouldn’t expect it. It’s a fun course but definitely bring some discs you don’t mind not getting back.
@nmacleod
Course design is great, forces you to throw different angles and the ever present water and wind make you think. That being said, hella pedestrians. be cautious because there are blind spots that lead to potentially very dangerous throws
@jdimiero
Fun challenge with all the water. Good variety of shot shapes. But bring some discs you don’t mind losing and try to go off hours or be ready for a fair amount of pedestrians, dog walkers, bikers, etc.
@asem6197
Park has cleaned up a lot over the last couple months. Tee signs have been installed which make the course much easier to navigate. Still some places that are easy to lose discs so be careful!
@jmacmillan
Challenging course. Recently cleaned up and updated signs. Friendly locals. Watch out for bikers, walkers, and picnickers. Bring some discs you wouldn’t mind losing. There are several shots over the lagoon.
