Eh. Best word to describe the course. Not much variety in shots at all. Just long, open shots with the occasional tree or two you have to watch out for. Very consistent with the ball golf type feel. Nothing special about the course at all, there’s maybe one or two holes with a tiny bit of water in play. Goose crap is the main attraction here. It is indeed a well kept course but that’s all it really has going for it. Just a very long and boring course at the end of the day. Last thing I’ll say, some of the OB lines make zero sense. One of the holes has a wide open field but they made majority of the field OB with the only landing area being left side all the way down. I recommend everyone try this course at least once but I doubt I’ll be making my way to West Dayton to ever play this again.

Mostly open holes with some obstacles. OB makes things more interesting.

Nice tee boxes. Open course. Gets hot and windy. Needs next tee arrows. Some long holes. Ponds and geese.

Nice mutiliple basket locations concrete pads & signage on rocks most tee's. Few water hazards but very manageable to miss. Fun longer course with not much elevation.

The water holes are quite difficult especially when pedestrians park in the fairways

Good course, lots of long holes, challenging for beginners who struggle with distance shots, too open for windy days

Tee pads are rather small for run ups, but that’s only complaint. Excellent course overall

Fantastic course with a variety of long and short holes. Hole layouts are often challenging and force the golfer to throw more creative shots that they normally wouldn’t throw so it leans more towards experienced players. The only issue was it was missing tee signs on holes 8-11 which made it a little confusing but otherwise it’s a very well rounded course and if you haven’t played since the most recent updates I would highly recommend it.

For as open as the course feels you better have all the shots to score well. Fun course to play.

First, the pros: This is a beautiful, well-maintained park; possibly one of the best in Dayton. It’s quiet (aside from county fair or special event times), peaceful, the grass is always mowed, and the ponds are scenic. The course equipment is superb. Baskets are new, tee pads are grippy and plenty big with no major transition problems from the surrounding ground, and the signage is informative and looks great with the big stonework. Now the cons: It’s just not that fun. The wide open property doesn’t demand much shot variety, but the largest flaw is the distance. I feel it’s too long to be a fun Par 3 course and too short to be a fun Par 4. There are a lot of tweener holes where your drive doesn’t put you close enough for a putt but doesn’t put you away enough for a fun approach either, so you just end up with a lot of layups.
