The drive out to this course is an experience for sure. I think you’ll be happiest if you’re thinking of it as an off-roading type adventure with cool disc golf at the end. We had rented a Dodge Durango with 4WD and it handled things fine but I think it would have been way more fun with one of those specialty ATVs. The views on the drive were absolutely amazing, national park worthy. Tons and tons of cliffs, interesting rock formations, etc. The course is superlative just based on the setting - such a unique experience. Lots of sand, rocks, hiking, etc. The red tees were not super difficult but I thought there was decent shot variety. It would be kinda cool to see a full pro level course designed out here but I think the one that was here is a great experience for most disc golfers. I’m not sure it’s the type of place that would be fun if it was super hard because of the exhaustion factor that would kick in. The owner was very nice and gave a good overview of the course and had paper maps, water, and a bathroom available. The tortoise didn’t come out because it was hot but we saw his shadow. :)

Wow, just wow. I’m sure most people talk about the amazing frisbees. I’m here to tell you about the hospitality, the dinosaur that lives on site, the nocturnal feeding frenzy, and the sheer uniqueness of a visit here. Go and plan to spend at least one night. You won’t regret it. I can’t wait to get back. Thanks guys!

This place could have a lot of potential but it fell far short. This course has no business being in the top 100 courses in the world. Not to mention the 1.5 hour drive from Moab a some brutal jeep roads. The Subaru Crosstrek was a champ and the drive was amazing but course wasn’t worth the drive. Tee pads were bumpy turf or not at all or covered in a few inches of sand. The shot variety was good, but some baskets basically stuck behind bushes, mounds and hills. A spotter is a must if you would like your discs back.
@patrick5
The views are amazing. The shots are fun and the holes are well laid out. The tees are not great making a couple shots more difficult. The course maintainer provided a map and the baskets all had paint on the spokes to direct you to the next tee area. Overall a fun course. I would not recommend trying to drive the unmaintained road to the course unless your vehicle has a little more ground clearance than a typical passenger car.

After a 15 mile drive on a rough road that takes over an hour,(I suggest to rent a jeep or dune buggy in town),with sensational scenery, to get to play a course like this is worth it. The "Base Camp Adventure " is a house with a friendly couple who let you in to use the designated bathroom and provide water as well. You'll get to throw some shots you'll never have again. Worth every minute!
@djdtsch
Get a map from the host, you will have no cell service here. There's camping too!
@mtcherry
This is closest you will probably ever get to playing disc golf in a national park. The course features spectacular views, beautiful rock formations, wildlife and more. As other reviews have said, it is a huge effort to get to the course. Yes, the drive will take you an hour from Moab, yes, you will need a car that can handle bumps, and yes you will lose cell service out there. The owners are friendly and helpful and clearly love the course. It's been around since at least 2010 (probably much longer) according to the caddy map (which is very well detailed). Signage is clear and navigation is not too difficult with the map. I wish the actual disc golf was as epic as everything else this place has to offer (keeping in mind that is in the desert - I am not sure if plants can be cut l, rocks can be drilled into, etc.). The first three holes of Hayduke feel pretty ordinary - hole 2's basket is placed with tons of dense pricker bushes in Circle 1 - I searched 10 minutes for a drive that was ultimately 20 feet from the basket. Holes 4-18 utilize much more of the terrain and elevation - when I reached hole 5 I thought "ah yes THIS is what I drove out for." Holes 7, 10, 13 and 14 were particularly spectacular and enjoyable to play. The tee areas are really long and narrow, several of which are places in the desert wash and are consequently in not very good shape. Some tee areas are unlevel natural stone as well. Several baskets are leaning 15+ degrees away from level, which could due the rocks they are drilled into, but it was a bit disappointing to see. Lastly, I think some pins could be repositioned to make better use of the terrain. There are so many ledges, boulders, and other natural features that could make approach shots/putts more technical. Granted, it's probably not a good idea to have people walking back down chasms due to a missed putt, but the threat could be there to make things more interesting. Overall, I had an awesome time playing here - it was definitely an adventure that I won't forget!
@timothyfrandsen
Top 5 Course for me - 75 unique played so far & this one is maybe 1 or 2 in terms of views. Need 4x4 or higher clearance vehicle to get down to base camp
@fishy76
Great experience, incredible views and shots! One of a kind!
@conkahn
Amazing course. Use a spotter whenever you can. Lots of blind shots.
@jevans7715
Does is get much more scenic than this? Two 18 hole courses nestled in the flowing valleys and mountains between Arches and Canyonlands National Parks provide stunning views and an entirely new disc golf experience for this Iowa based player. It takes a good 4x4 vehicle to even get to the course but it was oh so worth it. Just an incredibly unique experience.
@troymoehlenpah
Wow, what a course. Super fun. Incredible scenery. Bring snacks and lots of water. The road to the course is a bit hairy. One lane 4x4 trail. Do not take a cart. Almost impossible to get a cart from hole 14 to 15.
@patrickgiscard
Epic - some blind shots but the map they provide helps a lot! Put this course on your list. Remember to stop and take some photos 🤘🏻
@peptoshotz
Never played anything like this! Interesting shots in an incredible setting. Just getting there is an adventure unto itself. Hope to be back another time.
@doublethomas
This is an experience not just a disc golf course! The road was being graded when we went in, made it easier. Driving a Subaru Forester it was a fairly easy drive. Just go slow and pick your spot on the road and you’ll be fine. One of the best things I’ve ever done in my life, worth it for the memories and photos!!!
@alexnelles
Course was great road was in good shape got there in my front wheel drive van. Get the map from the owner easiest way to find your way around
@jsalzman
Amazing course. Best I’ve ever played. Worth the drive if you have a high clearance vehicle (made it no problem in my lifted subaru).
