Tee sign maps/distance are wrong (-1 point). Fairways are too tight (-.5 point). Every shot except hole 4 is a right hand hyzer (-.5 point). It is quiet, beautiful, and great concrete tee pads and mowed fairways. A fun course with decent distance for 9 holes.

Extremely tight with unforgiving rough. Expect to lose discs.

Pin placement felt a little questionable. Tucked as far deep as fairways went. Thick rough within ten feet of pins. 4 or 5 holes were blind backhand hyzers. Particularly frustrating to not see the baskets when rough is so close to the pin. Fairways were well groomed, nice baskets, solid tee pads.

Very nice, wooded and narrow. Five of the holes are pretty much the same. No signs or nothing yet. Prairie is kind of a pain, just try to avoid it.

Played the beginning of June. It was a beautiful calm evening. Bring bug spray. A lot of of the same dog legs left. Hit the fairway or spend half your time looking for discs.

Nice baskets and tee pads. There are no signs but you can usually see the next tee pad from the basket you just played. All but one hole at 300+ feet with impossible dog legs left. 9 is the only hole that is not 300+ feet and is a dog leg right. All this makes this a challenging course which is great if that is what you're looking for. To me small town courses like this the focus should be on recreational enjoyment if you want much course traffic. Hopefully they put in a second set of basket locations that are less challenging and more beginner to intermediate friendly.

I’m for sure glad I went while it’s dry and autumn. Some off-course shots will send you down some steep banks/into thick timber. Probably not great for beginners

Overall the course is fun, though the fairways are extremely tight and if you go in the rough you will probably lose a disc without a spotter.

Has so much potential, please widen the fairways and knock down the rough. Tee pads a great! Baskets are surprisingly good, needs signs, a bridge on hole 9 and much wider fairways for how bad the rough is.

Harder course but not awful. Need two people to help w/ spotting discs bc blind turns.

Most the tee shots are the same. Hyzer off the tee for 6 to 7 of the tee shots. Rough is pretty thick and it's easy to lose a disc if you get off the fairways which are roughly only 20 to 30 feet wide. Accuracy is key here. Not for beginners.

Brand new course, was very exciting to have in Kalona. This course is just not fun right now. I hope there are some changes in the future. No signage for now, but it’s fairly simple to figure out. Many of the shots are: throw it straight, then throw approach shot to the left, then putt. The problem is that the fairways are about 40 feet wide and then you’re surrounded by creekbed on the left, and fields on the right. If you err with your drive, you really may not find it. I also mean a drive that your buddy says “nice throw” and you still somehow don’t find it. The course punishes any throw that’s off by a few degrees, or doesn’t fade the way you expected. This course will swallow your disc. I’ve played lots of Iowa courses with similar challenge, but the prairie/field/creekbed is so dense right now that your discs will be lost. It just kinda sucks. Tee pads are nice, baskets are nice. The layout is okay, but until they mow wider fairways or something, it just kinda sucks to play right now.

The rough will literally EAT your discs for breakfast! The fairways only get mowed once every 3 weeks.. But this course is pretty new so maybe they will do some maintenance eventually.

First off, would not recommend this course to first time players or players that are still relatively new to the game. Definitely an intermediate to advanced course. Why? Well, there are several blind tee shots all with tight fairways. If you’re unable to hit the fairway, good luck finding your disc because the roughs are extremely unforgiving. For most of these holes, you’re at risk of going into a field of tall grass, a forest that is very overgrown or both, so throw at your own risk and be sure to watch exactly where your disc lands. I’d also recommend to walk the course before playing if it’s your first time here. Now for the course itself. First, I’ll start with the good holes 3, 4, and 9 are awesome. Very pretty and well made holes. I also enjoyed the technicality of this course. It rewards good shots and punishes bad ones. Tee pads were up to par and placed in good locations. I also appreciated how the course started and ended near the parking lot. I had no problems with the baskets. My biggest complaint is the shot variation. 5 out of the 9 holes on this course are blind tee shots to the left, making the course very repetitive. Some of these shots were tucked so far in to the left that they are borderline impossible to birdie. There was also no signage to indicate basket locations, so you’ll have to use UDisc. This isn’t too awful but it does get annoying constantly having to get your phone out. There are no public restrooms here either.

The rough is brutal. The field by 1, 2, and 3 and wide right on most holes is tough to find disks in. Hole 4 is definitely at least a par 4.

Holes are really difficult, watch where your disc lands exactly or you will spend the next 10 minutes trying to find it. The hidden to the left style of hole got a little overused in my opinion. But it's still an okay course to play.
