It’s hot in Texas, but half of these holes are in the woods and the shade was welcome. Early holes are open and great for airing out some new discs or trying some new throwing techniques. The wooded holes are narrow and have plenty of trees to make you work for those pars. Great course to hit if you’re in the area or traveling through Bastrop. Some fairways beginning with 8 have baskets that differ from the GOS location in UDisc. Signs at the tees were great, but multiple doubling back was a bit annoying with the layout.
@chipndiscs
Beautiful park but some holes need clearing and it has a really bad ant problem, especially in the front 9
@dan0gram
Beginnings very open field, but there’s some tricky nice holes in the woods
@audiosyncrasies
Overall really solid hole design. 1 & 2 are a bit underwhelming, but it picks up quickly with a good mix of open shots, longer holes, shorter holes, moderately wooded, really tight woods holes, and elevation being incorporated. Only major negative is the layout has you walking a lot between holes in non-intuitive ways, which breaks up the flow of the course pretty significantly. Definitely would play if I was in the area though.
@okkevin
They need to fix the flow of this course. At least four different times, you have to backtrack and go back to the beginning of a hole to get to the tee box for the next hole.
@cravesak
We need Tee pads
@jmac60
Some long walks between holes. As one example, tee 4 and tee 5 are beside each other. Hole 4 is 500'. You have to walk all the way back to tee 5.
@markmakes
Decent city park, terrible tee pads and smells a bit like poop everywhere
@tiggar
Solid course. First 6 are kind of boring, but definitely some fun ones in the woods. Would play again.
@atxkaos
Tees signs to be orientated to the direction of the fairway. Missing some signage for the next tee as well. Udisc is a most for a new player.
@joemaxey2
Really great use of the park. Becareful of people walking. The woods are tough but fair and will reward good disc placement.
@joepadilla
Rubber pads could be leveled off for safety The city does a pretty good job on cutting it, especially when spring comes around. Have your bug spray ready for skeeters and tics.
@michaelsorrels
Beautiful park with some awkward walks between holes will easily get a 4.5 when/if the course gets teepads and a couple of the holes have more clear cut line.
@coleyko
Open front 9, wooded back 9. Fun, easier course, still plenty of opportunities for bogeys. Nicely Cleaned up since I last played.
@tseremed
Could end up being a nice course with tees. Course flow is an issue, lots of backtracking. Open for 9 and tight woods for the other 9. Needs some trimming to make fair lines on some holes.
