About the course

New 18 hole course in the Buckeye Lake recreation area on Beech Mountain. This course winds through the lush forest surrounding Buckeye Lake. These are short distance shots but it is challenging to navigate trees and narrow fairways. There are 9 baskets and the course is played in reverse to finish out 18. Parking is at Shane Park near the intersection of Pine Ridge Road and Buckeye Creek Road. Most fairways are on the walking trail, so always yield to those on the trail. Restrooms and water available in the building next to the parking lot. See the website below for more information regarding all of the activities available at Buckeye Lake! https://beechrecreation.recdesk.com Please note that swimming and personal canoes/kayaks are not allowed in the lake as this is a town water supply. Kayak and canoe rentals, as well as campsite reservations, are available at Buckeye Recreation Center. In case of an emergency, Beech Mountain Police and Fire dispatch can be called locally at 828-387-2342 or dial 911. Course location: Shane Park (Buckeye Lake Loop trail), Beech Mountain, NC 28604.

Firstly, what are Par 2’s? Not really a disc golf course. More a series of death putts carved out of the woods. Tee ‘areas’ are identified by stakes with pink ribbons. We shared the ‘course’ with mountain bikers, dog walkers, fisherman and families having picnics and kayaking. A cool park with a bizarre course full of poke and hope short shots. Props to whomever carved this thing out of the woods. A labor of love for sure. I used 4 discs, all putters. Spotter recommended.
