First twelve the course is nice, with exception of foot traffic and some homeless folks and a pretty bad smell like a treatment plant. Shot variety was great!
@clude84
Stinks to high heaven
@philjarch
Water portions and dual tees are nice. Being next to a dump and an active drilling site is not so nice. Talked to several homeless folks, who were exceedingly friendly. The memorials next to the 18th tee are sobering.
@jademet
Driving through from CA, the course designers did their best with what they have. Had fun, stop and play if you’re in town
@ashermueller9
Had low expectations going in and this course surprised me. Lots of open Hyzers but when playing the OB rules on Udisc this is a fairly challenging, fair, and fun course. Great to play while visiting Carlsbad parks
@meisterhyzer
Overall fun course! Just beware of several holes where parked cars and other people in the park definitely come into play.
@gnarcaster
Overall a solid course. I was hesitant after playing the first few holes but you end up playing all around the park with some interesting holes. I am passing through with only a handful of discs and played the blue layout in some strong sustained winds. It was a rough round but I enjoyed the course. The 520' par 3 throwing at the train track is kind of ridiculous, but we can't bird them all! Probably one of the better courses around so if you're in the area and are looking to throw, do it!
@nathanmn
Nice for a course right in the city! Smells like sewage for the first few holes, and the shots are all open. Garbage was around the course… wind makes it interesting!
@lyubik
Lots of trash and goose poop
@pointsi
Wide open course with a few well-placed fairway trees. Water is mostly a non-issue except for 16, where you need a RHBH turnover or FH. Parkgoers and cars have to be contended with. Enjoyable and serene city park, good additional distance options from a few dedicated blue tees.
@kevin0816
City use park. Lots of people at the park. Upkeep at the park is good and has several longer holes. There are several holes that vehicles, driving and parked, can become an issue. Also individuals utilizing park are sometimes within the fairways but this is expected in a city use park. Biggest issue with the park is the homeless. I travel and play by myself most rounds. There was no less than 40-50 transient individuals at the park and I was approached a few times during my round for a handout. Made round hard to play watching for them approaching me mostly on the back 6 holes.
@eiscrack
It was pretty easy to follow, though some shots are questionable par 3. Not too sure about mandos or OB for a decent amount of the holes either. The smell of the lake is pretty strong too making the scenery a bit less pleasant. Overall not bad though
@mikelennett
Good playing course, but most holes are wide open even if 4 holes play over or along water.
@mrgalvatron
So cool so far. Got dark. Guess I'll be back. Not bad Carlsbad.
@drunkboogie21
Great layout and scenic.
@fraggle
Excellent course and beautiful area around the river... long holes and short ones. Definitely a must
@mfcampos
People are friendly and will to help also love the lost and found and getting a disc returned.
@lucashiner
I am thrilled about the City’s dedication to upkeeping the park. With the issues they face the area is always mowed and trashed always changed. Many opportunities for a fun round with any of the layouts available
