"Long story short, this is a locals only course. It needs a TON of upkeep. There’s missing some baskets and after hole 8 they’re in an alternate layout which isn’t on Udisc and is often in the middle of deep rough. I gave up after hole 13 and walked the rest. 16 plays through tall grass the hole way. 15 basket is missing entirely. This place has great bones but a million trees and undefined fairways really screw it up. "

"Decent course. Fairways aren’t very clearly defined (lots of little trees in the way). Signage is also a bit unclear. Tee pads are wood-outlined but are dirt & leaves. Not in bad shape, but I personally prefer concrete pads. Some fun shots, and a decently challenging course too. Fairly scored on UDisc. I’d play again."

"This post is more informative than anything, especially for beginners/amateur players like myself. Elk creeks layout has changed from its usual that I have become fond of. I would say half of the basket locations have changed….and if you thought the course was hard before it’s only gotten harder. Hole 15’s basket was either missing or hidden away in deep upgrow as I was not able to locate it on my round. Hole 16’s fairway is starting to grow high again. Overall this course is a bigger challenge."

"16th hole is just waist high grass so make sure to watch where it lands"

"The course could you some TLC. Besides the first hole, only the pro tees are able to be found. The others either don’t exist or have rotted away. Hole 7 is missing a sign, turn right off the 6 net and you can find the pro box. If the course was given a spruce up it would be great. It has some great challengers for semi-new and regular players."

"I’ve been playing for 5 months and this is the perfect level of challenging. The paths are fairly well marked and I had a blast playing. "

"Great to find a course in small town! The course is mostly wooded with baskets randomly placed among the trees. Relaxing environment. I got lost several times looking for the basket and next tee box. One one hole, I thought the basket was missing and I was only 60 feet away from it. One gravel tee pad per hole. "

"Over grown, poorly mapped. If you don’t play the main holes you can’t play. "

But most of the course is dense woods so often players either leave feeling super accomplished or really defeated depending on how they throw because the course will punish your mistakes. Also one of the last holes you throw out of the woods up a hill into a field and if this is not maintained then you will lose your disc and it’s better to just skip that hole. "

"Technical but fair. Distance not an issue as accuracy is more important off the tee and angle control into the sloping greens. Potential for greatness with a few updates!"

"Distance is really unmarked, and the tee boxes need some work, but a really fun and tough woods course. Hole 16 is just beautiful rolling Appomattox fields in 270 degrees of view! "

"Really solid course, worth playing. Pretty tight wooded fairways so be prepared for that. In the fall/ winter the grass field on 16 has been cut for hay but in the summer it’s almost too tall to play."

"Heavily wooded course with lots of tight lines. Gorgeous in the fall, but probably very difficult in the spring and summer with undergrowth. Primarily dirt tee pads, and two pin locations. Low traffic, and a great place to get away for a quite and peaceful round of you can control your nerves in the tight trees."

"Hole 16... either run after your disc right after you throw or skip. TALL grass. Otherwise, this is my favorite course near Lynchburg. "

"Great property. Super fun front 9 but the back lines are tough and not super clear. Had to skip hole 16 due to high grass and beware of chiggers when it’s tall. "

"Fun course with variety. Almost all wooded and blind shots. Medium density. Easy to navigate but the signs are not accurate. Hole 16 has waist high grass, but every hole except for that one is fine to play. Course behind pavilion back by the softball, tee ball, and baseball fields. "

"Hole 16 is a 500 foot par 4 that has grass as high as your waist all the way until the hole which they have mowed. Don’t throw your disc there unless you want to guarantee you’ll lose it. I just walked right past that hole. The rest of the course is well designed, but the pats on most of them are really poorly chosen. For example, there is a dog-leg right 230 foot hole that is marked as a par 5. I can see the vast majority of players getting birdies easily and possible eagles "
