I was in Champaign/Urbana with a Saturday morning to kill, so thought I would take the short drive to Danville to try the course. Reviews were generally good, but the “too many meth heads” comment struck me as odd. Overall, a nice course. Not a lot of shot variations and the last holes are just wide open bombers. Throwing over the “river” was fun. No real danger of losing a disc to the water on any whole. I got there at 9 AM on a Saturday. The gate to the park was unlocked but only a quarter opened. I said why not, opened the gate and drove in. I had the park to myself and it is pretty. As I played, a few cars started to come into the park. I assumed golfers or folks there for a walk…. But they just parked on the side of the road and did not get out of their cars. A couple were just parked in the grass near 15 and 16 - it was a little disconcerting. I played around them and they did not get out. As I finished my round, I saw more cars parked with people in them, just sitting there. As I left the park, there was a parking lot just before the gate - same thing. Multiple cars parked with people in them. Meth users? Dunno. No one bothered me. But it was weird.

In summer, very thick vegetation makes course and finding discs more difficult. Pretty good hole/shot variety. Could use stairs in a couple places.
@onelegbird
Lots of trash and meth heads
@johnnyjanke
Steep drop off to water on most holes. Good challenge but not fun to attempt to retrieve discs.

@kjhardyman
Pretty park, some really good holes, some just long and open. Back must be fairly new, nice tee boxes, but no signs

@jaydecorte
Great course , fun layout , long technical shots , no UDisc layout for standard course though , great Teepads and signs

@grtmontg
The course has a ton of potential. Great baskets, tee pads and scenery. It lakes it wayfinding/signage. There were jeeps parked out in the fairways so two holes were un playable. There is a new back nine, but still doesn’t have signs
@brymagnus
Well kept and looked promising. The UDisc map was way off and signage didn’t help. Cancelled my round and left

@holmesmlh
It's a nice little course in the middle of town.

@ryan145
This is a cool little park course

@bakedbrotato
Love this little course, nice elevation changes and shot variety, also throwing over the river is pretty sweet! EDIT: Solid 18! The addition of the back 9 adds some difficulty and brings the river into play alot more, great course!!

@msheddan
Actually is a fun 9 holer- almost gave it a 4 as it is a little better than a 3 1/2 star course. Had some elevation as well as some long shots . Birdies to be had but with so many holes next to river bogeys are too. Personally, water hazards do add drama, but I really don't want to give up $25 disc for it🤷♂️

@isuaggie
Solid 18 hole city park course. Mostly open with a few trees to work around and a couple elevation throws. Fairly long and one over-the-river throw if you choose.

@ascendant
Pretty course a few tough shots just don’t land in the rough because there’s tons of poison ivy

@awaningreign
Good clean course. Nice views. Lots and lots of walking though.

@bishir14
Very nice course with great baskets and tee pads. Hopefully the city will allow another course or two soon! Great addition to the area.

9 hole course in Public park near downtown. Good beginner/intermediate course. Many holes are effectively designed to force a line to be hit for a birdie. Big Creek/River borders a few holes but only wild throws risk loss. Course in great condition Not much rough to eat your plastic. No amazing holes but I did find #3,4,,7,8 to be interesting. It made a nice quick round while passing through on I 74 (8min off highway) There are a couple opportunities to throw hard. #7 long tee forces throw over creek makes it an interesting hole.

@dchird
A great course that for 9 holes has a great amount different things happening(up, down, across the river and other things). A pretty little course, Danville did something right! But it’s still not 100% done, can’t wait to see the tee box signage as well
