About the course

Gordon Moore has gotten a full design as of Oct 2022. Important notes, Holes 1-3 are on the opposite side of the road. Hole 11 has a temporary tee until the actual tee box is opened up. The walk from 12-13 is a bit long. 14 does not have a tee signpost so can be overlooked. Finally, there is still some trimming that needs to be done to really open up all the fairways. Following the map here on UDisc should prevent most issues. 18-hole course in a mostly open park with rolling hills and mature trees. Gordon Moore is Alton’s most popular park with several baseball fields, football fields, tennis courts, playground, and other activities. The disc golf course sits in the back of the park so all the other activities going on don't affect play. The first 3 holes play to the left of the Muenstermann Pavilion and the remaining 15 are across the road to the left of the parking lot. Most of the holes are 300’ and under with the exception of two bombers in the back. It’s a great beginner course or a good place to work on your short game. Some of the back holes play close to the wood line and or rough which you don't want to get into. Park closes around sunset so unless there is a ball game going on the gates will typically get locked by the parks dept. Course has so many options on how it can be played, and you can also still play the OG 9 from the original tees (the baskets are just a bit further but its relatively the same) The course was originally a very short 9 holes course put in by local Boy Scout for his Eagle badge project in 2010. It’s now been stretched out a bit and is a full 18 install by Gateway Disc Sports

3.25 ⭐️ Definitely worth playing! Park style course with a fair amount of elevation and trees to make it interesting. Mostly par 3s. In need of teepads and signs

Solid 18 hole course. Gateway baskets. Unfortunately no real tee-pads. Just flattened out grass/dirt that turns muddy when wet. Had to tee off from the sides. Wooded posts on every “tee-pad” but no real signage. Really fun lines. Park style golf. Grassy terrain. Nice use of elevation. If this course has proper concrete tee-pads & up to date signage it would be 4.5-5 stars. Worth a visit!
