I’m from out of town….first time playing Henslee. Property is certainly capable of a 5.0 course….but it would take more funding from city/county. Tee pads, and shorter routing between holes would be a huge upgrade.
@adamcushing
Fantastic open course. This is the way open courses should be designed! With the exception of hole 9, this course does a phenomenal job using the topography of this old ball golf course, and uses the trees to forces you to shape shots, not just throw wide open distance. The par 4s and 5s are the highlight of the course. You can rip distance drivers, but you almost always have to hit a gap or think about landing zones in the fairway. Distance will help you score on this course, but you can attack it with 325 of distance.

Everything about the course was great. Long, demanding, but fair. Signage was great, and once tee pads all go in it will be even better. Overgrown in a few parts, but to be expected from a former golf course. However, the ticks were a major problem. I probably pulled 7 off of me the round. Every time I had to walk through rough or woods, I had a tick on me. Not the fault of the course, but felt like it should be mentioned as a warning.
@nathaniel0
Great Gold long course. While it is stroller friendly, with no roots or rocks, the large hills and some grassy paths between holes make it a little difficult. Great course to challenge your accuracy over distance.
@wcaster11
Course was great! It was really long, but the par 4’s were relatively short for par 4’s. Very interesting design, it requires a ton of mowing.
@danielrasor
Love the course. A couple of holes didn't have tee boxes but the signage, fairways, and course design made up for it. I highly recommend this course
@dymccachern
Fantastic bomber course. New best course in Middle Tennessee! Missing a few concrete tee pads still, but existing tee pads are very nice and I hope to play many tournaments here.
@strebs
Course on an old golf course. Very well kept and feels like more than just a bomber course (though it definitely has a lot of long shots down big fairways). A few short holes mixed in with a decent use of the treeline to add some technicality. Teepads on almost all of the gold positions. Drinking water was hard to find, maybe by the splash pad?
@beefish83
Big beautiful course. Lots of room to go full boom. Short golf grass and rolling hills make for good rollers and roll-away putts. Use Udisc to navigate. The rose gold layout is shorter but still fun. Gold layout is forgiving despite its length. Accurate pars for experienced amateurs with 350-400' power. Very cart friendly. Windy days could be a big problem here, but fairways are wide enough for 50' left or right errors on the big holes. No loop around to parking lot until hole 16. When you park, looking at the course, hole 1 is down the steps to the right. I started on 16 and it was fine too.
@crdonoho
Wonderful course! Amazing bathrooms down at the splash park! Water bottle fill Station as well!!
@jonahcavalier
Great course with great layouts. Definitely a course that we needed in Middle Tennessee.
@mathison
Long walk’s between holes and huge hills but lots of great hole design
@lilbilmt
Absolute banger of a course. I wish I had this course back home. It’s on an old ball golf course so it’s long and open but they used the trees and water to make it stand out above other BG courses I have played.
@hammbino
Great upkeep and incredible layout! Great work by the city and all involved with this course.
@all4damon
Great course for the big arms. Transition from 6 to 7 fairway awkward but worth it. Fun course if you can bomb +350
@drlerb
Classic ball golf course type. A few gaps and wooded holes, but mostly open fairways.
@niceparsave
Still needs some tee pads and a few trash cans throughout, but pretty well kept. One of my favorite courses
@colt22
Great mix of big and short holes. Signage could be worked on a little but all in all will awesome course!
