Highland Park

Really fun course that poses some challenges but isn’t too overwhelmingly difficult even for beginners. The holes have varying shot types/shapes that keeps the course interesting and the pin placement for each hole is really well done. Great use if elevation changes as well. The signs from hole to hole are a little tough to pick out and the course could really afford some maintenance to clear some of the loose trash/broken glass on some holes. Overall, a really well designed course.

Fun challenging course with my distance, blue to pin A, shot a +4 for my 1st time on the course. Was only able to card 1 birdie. Enjoyed the variety of shots and elevation that make up the course. I can see big numbers if you don't get off the tee on certain holes due to tunnel shots. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

I enjoyed playing here but will point out that a couple baskets are missing the directional arrow. Not enough trash cans, and the ones that exist are either over filled or have full bags next to them.

Challenging for beginners but very fair for intermediate players. Overall great design and well kept, great course.

Really enjoyed this coarse with the family. Loved the change in elevation and all the trees. Good mix of shots.

It’s a hard course

Love how the A and B pins aren't just long and short like most courses with 2 baskets per hole; it's 2 different layouts equally hard with some being long and some short. With the blue and white tee-pads you have 4 different layouts to play, all fun & challenging. Highland gets better every time I play. Unlike Dellwood that is virtually unplayable with the traffic these days.

Down the road from the immaculate, highly touted Canyons, Highland Park is more rugged and less well kept, but is a superior course for its variety of shots and holes and challenging pars. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Joliet area, along with Canyons and The Oaks. Great elevation changes, beautiful park fairways, and very difficult technical holes—you will use your whole bag. Joliet park district put some $ into cleaning it up recently and it looks great.

Amazing more people don't give this 5 stars.. yes it's miserable in the spring.. but its only the honest challenge from short tees.. nice shot shaping and punishment off the fairway... nothing in area does this unless you travel...

This course has potential to be 5 stars. It is a difficult, technical course. Signage is not very good. Baskets need to be updated, especially to help with visibility. There is a lot of broken glass throughout the course. Due to that the highest I can give this course is a 3. Some tables, benches and trash cans would be nice. This part is picky, but the only parking is an uneven gravel lot. I don’t mind gravel, but paving would make this feel a little more cared for.
