Ground is rocky but skippy, unique lines, definitely have to be well versed in all types of shots
@eurika
For upstate NY, this course is one of the best. From the concrete tee pads being in great condition to the maintained fields and brush in the woods this course is 5 star worthy. Especially considered the orange trail markers on the trees to direct you to your next tee from the previous hole allowing players to find their way easily in any conditions. I will most definitely be visiting here again.
@scubalafayette
This is a very fun, technical course, which, if you go into it knowing things are a little rustic, you will have an absolute blast. Some creative out of bound creek usage and plenty of manageable elevation changes keep the holes interesting and make you think about shot selection. I'll definitely come back here whenever I'm in the area and in the mood for some rugged woods disc golf.

First time and it brings me back to the courses in Western New York ie Bond,Chestnut, Beaver Island Emery. Would always recommend

Oh where do I begin… hyzer creek…my love …I personally would be fine with never playing another course again for the rest of my life…the sounds of nature that whistle in thy ears when frolicking in the forest of middle grove…thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you….on the real note I love this place and wouldn’t rather be anywhere else. The shots are great. Try and name another course with a par 5 around here let alone 2. I understand the parking being an issue sometimes but that’s all in the Adirondack outdoor experience. I live relatively close to this course and would purchase a second house even closer just so I can play it everyday. Here’s a poem I wrote. Hyzer creek Hyzer creek My favorite place u see For when the sun shines bright You know where I shall be
@hyoomac
Beautiful course with continuous elevation change, a lot of tight fairways and a few open bombers. The creek plays a significant role bordering and occasionally crossing many holes. 1 and 15 baskets are in the creek. The signs are just plastic-covered paper, and many of them are water-damaged or too faded to read. Not a problem if you think to download and print the map on the course website. This was one of the most disappointing courses we've played . The course design is very cool, but the weird "abandoned trailer park shed" vibe when you arrive is super weird, and the course desperately needs to be cleaned up. Downed limbs and dead branches are everywhere, and it's a huge hassle to find anything off the fairway. With work it could be great, but as it is I'd play somewhere else.
@dthops
Wonky parking lot. When you enter it seems like you're parking at someone's house. The course is a hike but gorgeous and very well maintained for this level of wooded golf. Keep your drives in the fair way and pars are very gettable.

Edit 6/21/25 Second time at the course now, bumped up the rating, last time it was rainy and crappy but this time it was nice! A truly physical course that punishes you for any missed lines! Eh, not worth the above 4 rating. Sure, some nice looking tee shots, but the rest is just messy woods golf. Fine if you live locally! Very easy to lose discs if you end up off the fairways
@jag8801
Very nice natural course. Just a little unclear on signage and pathway. Unique and fun holes. Some paths are tight and challenging. Good mix of holes
@sasquatch910
Very fun course, peak northeast woods disc golf. Signage is mostly lacking but we have udisc so it was mostly fine.
@mishkin37
Awesome shot variety, challenging but fair holes, beautiful scenery! No two holes are the same. Coolest course in this part of NY I’ve played so far.
@apadula14
Between all the salamanders, unique mushrooms and amazing views/shot shapes this is a must play! It’s truly a fun journey through the woods!
@mr8e8wads
Amazing local course. Pin placements and course map is modestly difficult to navigate if you aren’t familiar.
@drizzy2188
Very clean and fairways opened up from some recent tree and brush removal
@merby2
Better for experienced players, not so much for beginners. Narrow trees, lots of overgrown brush. Interesting, unique, and challenging holes
@benjaminhouck
The most beginner friendly , but still technical course I’ve seen in the 518. Beautiful mix of feel good holes and challenging ones.
@vassart196
A great wooded course with tight gaps and some bomber holes as well. Can’t wait to play more
