Mostly very short holes, but tight and wooded lines so birdies are rewarding. Beautiful scenery and small pro shop at the climbing wall. Fun setup.

James Island County Park is the most I’ve ever felt like a jungle explorer while playing a round of disc golf. The course is DENSE with trees and other greenery so this course very much favors accuracy over power. I found it to be really interesting with the biggest bummer being a real lack of signage. It’s sometimes very hard to figure out where the next tee is or where the basket is after that. Tee boxes are also barely marked off and are just dirt, no pads or anything. I can see this being a nightmare after a rain. Thankfully (for this at least) it’s been really dry recently so it wasn’t an issue and there were no bug problems. Still, I’d bring some spray with you. Amenities for the park in general are fantastic. For the disc golf area you have a small clubhouse at the climbing wall where you sign in with water fountains and bathrooms. The course is an out and back so be sure to take whatever you might need with you when starting. I’ll definitely be back now that I’ve figured out the course a bit but still, would love it if the signage was improved and fairways marked off. It’s so dense that there’s often no visual indicator whatsoever of where you’re meant to throw so improvisation skills are rewarded! e: signage and maintenance have indeed improved. Would like tee pads but otherwise fantastic course.
