History

Frisbee golf in Valldal started slowly in the spring of 2011 when Jemtegård Feriesenter bought two baskets that we could throw at. Svein Magne Jemtegård and Richard Moen then built a frisbee golf course at the campsite, both on a disused strawberry field and in the forest. It was in 2014 that it really got going. The course now had 12 baskets with 18 holes. We started with the Vekas runde, where we met every Friday for a 12-hole round. The weekly round was an activity that lasted from the beginning of April to the end of October and an overall winner was chosen. This year we also joined the sports team (Valldal IL) as part of the fitness group. In August of the same year, we tried to arrange the first ever frisbee golf tournament in Valldal. It was a big disappointment when the weather forecast warned a storm. We unfortunately had to cancel the entire competition. The first tournament on the course was organized on Saturday, October 4, when we held a club championship with 15 starting players. At the annual meeting of Valldal IL on March 15, 2017, frisbee golf was established as a separate group called Disksport. We had our first board meeting in the group, and the following year we purchased the last baskets to have a full-fledged 18-hole course with 18 individual baskets. There have been some small changes to the holes along the way, but now the course is mostly finished.

Nice course, beautiful scenery. Signage (little red signs) is pretty effective and they keep the grass well mowed. Hole 17 is a little strange, basically a jump putt. There's an extra tee pad to the left of hole 1, I'm not sure but that might be a good long tee for 17 if you use a spotter. Absolutely worth a visit if you're in the area! Stop by Jordbaerstova for some cake afterwards!
