About the course
Tucked into dense woods just east of Lake Conroe, the John Burge (Little Egypt) course is an 18‑hole, heavily wooded, technical layout stretching about 5,358 ft, established in 2012
. With mostly concrete tee pads and Mach V baskets set amidst elevation changes and tight fairways, the design demands precise control and shot shaping—both forehands and backhands—and rewards players who can thread lines. While seasoned players praise its challenge and scenic tree‑lined routing, occasional missing signage past hole 12 and some obscured tees can make navigation tricky without UDisc. Known for being particularly punishing off the fairway, this course is best suited to advancing players who appreciate elevation, shade, and a woods‑only, line‑shaper style layout
