About the course

JT's Back Nine Course at Jim Thome Park in Rockford plays behind the baseball field and playground, utilizing woods and elevation with a mix of distance and elevation, with unique elements including shared tee locations to maximize space, an elevated double Tee Box, and excellent views. Cart Friendly and fun for all ages!

History

Rockford wanted to utilize the available space to the south of the baseball diamond at Jim Thome Park. Designed by Chris Beyer, encouraged to utilize the elevation and wooded fringes of the space. Rockford Park Department has done amazing work doing earthwork and landscaping to enhance and add some elements to create unique and memorable disc golf holes.

Okay little course, only complaint is hole 5 needs to be trimmed by the “tee pad” a there’s a lot of erosion where you should be planting. The trees are too tight to have a backswing without worry of slamming your hand. Otherwise with concrete tee pads this would be great! It’s already good

Fantastic use of the space! Not what I was expecting; pleasantly surprised! A few longer holes, plenty of shorter holes. No teepads yet. Some of the distances on UDisc were way off. Signs seemed accurate though! Super fun.

Fun little course that makes great usage of the small area. Really great tee signs but no teepads or navigation signs. Some fun use of elevation and a couple good ace run holes. A couple holes do play very close together.
