Today the golf course was busy but we were able to grab a tee time in the afternoon. Unfortunately the onslaught of avoiding golfballs started on Hole 1 when the group of golfers with the tee time after us decided to go ahead and hit into us while we were tapping out and had to yell “Fore!” This continued until we asked an employee to ask them to give us a bit more cushion while we played. Later we had other cards of golfers just not looking out for disc golfers and hitting at us. The design of this course doesn’t account for the safety of disc golfers when the course gets busy, which is an unfortunate oversight. The disc golf holes follows the golf course and there is a lot of overlap from fairways being shared, golf shooting over disc golf tee boxes (and visa versa) or fairways playing alongside of one another. I can definitely see how this course on a slower day with less traffic could be a blast with the beautiful backdrop and fun shots, but today’s experience was just not it - especially when I have played disc golf on golf courses that have it figured out and flow seamlessly and safely. I want to be throwing shots, not playing dodgeball.

Super fun 18 hole track located on Estes Park Golf Course. Nicely maintained grass, park style golf. Lots of open shots to really let loose. Some technical shots that play over or around the river. Overall, a good mix of distances and shot shapes. Herds of elk were roaming freely throughout the course. Course could benefit greatly with the installation of legit teepads. Worth a visit if you’re looking for something new to play.
