I am from Houston. I usually drive in to play this course with my buddies from Austin. 2 1/2 hour drive. This is my 3rd time playing the course and to be honest I do love the course. It could use some love but it’s different from my normal houston golf. Whether you show up early, on time, or late. You will be starting late. The guy who checks you in rambles on and clings until you sort of drift away from him. Then he gives the courses guidelines and lets you go. Usually a 15-20 minutes hold up to get your round started. Art is an interesting guy to say the lease. Whatever to each their own. However this go around we had to deal with Art begging us to bring beer or weed for him next time. Asked us to pay cash for our second round so money couldn’t be tracked. I just felt pestered every time we encountered him. We were finishing up side B with one hole to play. Art pulled up on us and asked for good reviews as a good business would. When we said of course have a good day. He lingered holding onto the golf cart. I asked him “can we finish up I have a long drive back to Houston. 2 1/2 hours plus.” He didn’t leave. Instead I got crazy attitude “what you don’t have a minute? Why you going there?” followed by “oh he’s upper class houston. He’s too good for us”. Ended with the comment “pinche geuro”. Confused I once again tried to pull off. To be followed up after no one laughed at horrendous jokes or remarks, “lighten up. I am just playing around dude”. We all said ok bud we are going to finish now and head out. He mentioned one last time on the way out “bring your buddies. All your friends. Don’t forget to bring me beer or weed next time” This was only one encounter. We talked to Art 4-5 times today. Every single minute was lost forever. To be honest I’m never one to leave reviews but every encounter today with art annoyed me and made me feel pressured to provide him cash or beer or weed so he would leave us to play. Course is a 4-4.5 for me. As long as Art is taking payments and doing the carts. I will not be able to rate the course higher.
@stephencalcote
Great course. Course B a little overgrown. Art has GOT to chill out. Talked to us for 15 minutes straight when we were just trying to get our round started. Love the enthusiasm, but let us get on with our day.
@whyforever
Great course. Use google maps to get there, not udisc. Bring a truck/off-road vehicle if possible, road down to the beginning area sucks ass and can wreck your vehicle. There is an upper area to park, however, would require a decently long downhill walk. Art (one of the helpers for the course) is friendly but very talkative. He also made my wife feel very uncomfortable with some remarks he made and was very pushy. She also felt that he was constantly staring at her breast.
@furbabyspot
Fun course (2 of them) definitely needs some TLC though. The road last part of the road is worse than some of the roads I have been on in Colorado …. Art was awesome and a VERY helpful 👍🏼
@jabeguy
The views Rock. Art was extra helpful.. The potholes suck balls, fix it city of Lago Vista!
@leftearcanthear
Art - the host - was great. Cool course, played long whites course B. Fun open drives that get technical near the basket. Golf carts are cool too. My wife and I will definitely be back!
@aaronhitt
The course is beautiful. Mixture of open and technical courses. The cart path needs some work but overall definitely worth it. Deer everywhere and grass is well kept. Art the facility keeper was very resourceful and has a great sense of humor. I would say the only major thing would be the road to the course has so many potholes but that is on the city!
@chrisgoff10
this is a beautiful course, well maintained and amazing scenery. trimmed fairways golf carts to take hole to hole. art is an amazing host water is always available.
@dirkpho
City needs to support recreation by paving access to course. Art is a f'n phenomenal host.
@bagofdicks
Great course a lot of fun to play with friends. I would recommend the longs and to play both courses to make it worth it
@tpitcher
Beautiful course on an old ball golf course. A lot of open bomb shots. Could use concrete tee pads on the tees that are off the cart path.
@kitchenchains
This has always been a fun course to visit and it was one of our faves in the area, but it could use some maintenance. With the recent reintroduction of the ball golf course on side A, the disc golf fairways are no longer prioritized. Hope to see the course still maintained in the future. Would hate to lose such a gorgeous property. Note - depending on the ball golf course conditions and tee times, course B may be the only one open to play, but Art will get you out on course A if possible!
@lkitch
These courses were awesome! More shot variety than I expected going in. So many epic holes. I preferred A over B. We walked both courses (2 of us). Each round was about 3 hrs but we’re slow players. walking is totally doable if you’re not completely out of shape. A lot of uphill walks between holes and some walks were much longer than typical courses. I will walk it every time and save the 10 bucks per person. Incredibly peaceful and scenic, felt like we were the only ones out there. Wind = bad
@chrisconnelly
Horrible road leading down to the parking / checkin cart area. Good thing Art is there to get ya on your way. He’s got jokes for days!!
@calvingust
Great course and amazing staff. I will definitely come back soon
@holcombe
Not worth the trip. The course is in bad shape, the cheapest possible baskets, and only one course is available. The owner does not care about disc golfers and is just trying to make some money off of a failed golf course. Plenty of free courses in the area that offer a much better experience.
