@joshuamatheney
Fun course with some decent variety. Basket 18 was missing, seems it got pulled out. Tee pads were a bit small, but the fairways were well taken care of.
@benoloughlin
Good course, a bit overgrown. Definitely bring disc or a course map - signage is minimal.
@apetroski22
Very beautiful course but very wooded. Lots of ticks. Could use some more trash cans.
@joker171
Tick heaven . Long grass everywhere. Every hole seems like the same straight forward shot.
@unclepennybags
A decent course. Some difficult tunnel shots mixed with reasonably wide open. Concrete tee pads along the whole course is nice to see, but I wish some of them were longer. The rough isn't too bad for a northwoods course, but so areas need to be opened up. Signage of some sort from baskets to the next pad would be a great improvement.
@roddyrod
Well not a bad course I would say but needs mowed!! Keeps the ticks down!! Also trash people come on really?
@ktknack
Beautiful course - plays through a pine barren/scrubland meadow and it is very "alone" feeling. Well worth a 30 minute drive or stopping at in tandem with other Alpena activities. Course lines vary from "you are taking a double if you go off the fairway" to wide open and forgiving. The wide open shots do tend to get a bit repetitive, but challenging yourself to land on the fairway is entertaining enough. I found the "rough" to be the best sort - clearly defined but easy to navigate and spot discs in. The cedar/juniper will block lines in a hurry on some holes. The parking lot is a sight to behold. I speculate it was cratered on an errant bombing run during the 50's and the ruins left alone as a legacy of memory. Legit course in an area that is mighty thin on options. Enjoyed my round here and hope it serves as the nucleus for future developments.
@irbium1
Hard course. Lots of roughage and narrow fairways. Be prepared to lose some disks. Hole 12 is beyond bad.
@andersonthunda
This course definitely caters to those with good control and 375+ power. Good mixture of technical lines and open bombs. Almost all holes can be reached with power, control, and creativity. Fairways on holes with tall grass could use widening and the signage needs to be redone completely, but those don't take away from the great experience to me.
@stevehultquist
Mowing the fairways would go a long way towards rating this a 4
@diskoo
A good mix of difficulty, minimal elevation change.
@zhudacko
The mowing could be widened a bit on a few holes. Shots that used to be safe are now 10 yards deep in 3ft tall grass
@zombealpacalips
Layout not intuitive. Many Baskets do not match main course map. Bees nest near tree line on 17 so beware of the angry buzzing.. This course has a lot of potential if it were redesigned.
@jaketheczar
This is the best course an where within an hour and a half of Alpena. My friends and I play every time we come to the area. Very beautiful scenery especially in the fall. Having UDisc open while playing is a must. There are no guides between holes.
@paulmulholland
Love the variety with some tight lines and open holes. Finding the next tee is sometimes challenging without signs. Overall fun course.
@j4thelefty
Mostly open field course. Wind can play huge factor. Shot shape and distance lack variety. 350+ throwers will be rewarded with many birdie looks. I’ve edited my rating, the course at times is visually stunning. It’s rare (downstate) to find yourself completely alone on such a vast open area. There are some really great holes that flow through this oasis. As some have stated a redesign of some of those middle 380 ft holes would benefit greatly. My opinion, make some longer and par 4’s maybe even 5’s plenty of land for it. Make some shorter with maybe some forced ob carries etc… hey you have a local touring pro in the area. Bet he has some ideas.
@oneacesofar
Definitely whole 17 according to you disc needs a better fairway mode down. The roughs need to be a little better maybe 10 in tall instead of 2 ft tall say 6 to 8 ft in from the fairways.
@alangonzalez
A decent course
