While I’m fully in on PMF’s mission, I think this course, despite a good layout, missed the mark and I’m not sure why this location was picked. (I’ll have to rewatch the documentary.) While I was only there for a midday round on a Saturday, I did not see any locals playing and aside from the IG page, I’m not aware of any community of disc golf as I’ve seen in other LATAM countries. I understand this is a nascent country for DG but the course is a 30 min hilly walk from the closest town, so I don’t see how this will get people involved with the sport. It’s also not marked well from the road, only advertising ball golf (which is also located on the property). The course could also use work to clean up some fairways where I almost lost a disc. There are no facilities available and no one to collect fees except for a small lockbox where I left the suggested fee.
@chaseyourdiscs
Such a fun course, took about 30 minutes from Antigua via uber to get there. Jose was very nice and welcoming. He allowed us to use his discs at no additional costs. Ball golf was being played along side our course. Difficult but so dam beautiful and fun.
@dunkydisk
I caught an uber motorcycle from Antigua to the course and talked the driver into playing a round with me. I had to pay 100 quetzales for both the driver and myself and it was well worth the cost. We had a great time and enjoyed the layout and interesting lines on the course. The grounds keeper presented us with about 20 used discs to choose from so you don’t need to bring your own. This course is well worth the adventure in finding your way there. My uber driver had a great time (disc golf has a new convert) and wouldn’t accept any money for the return trip to Antigua.

Course is great, even by American standards. About 30 min from Antigua. Uber would have been ~$15 but we were put in contact with a driver (Juan Pablo - +502 5968 2497). He played with us and it was a great time. Q60 there and Q60 back. Pero, no hablas Ingles. Also, course has loner discs if you don't want to travel with yours.
@dylanroberts
Beautiful course with incredible scenery! Perfect amount of difficulty as well as open and wooded shots. Absolutely worth the trip out here!
@pdxdiscer
This course was absolutely incredible! Chris and his crew have truly made this a destination course if you are traveling through Guatemala. So many shot variations and amazing views!
@jwowens
Can't find better in the region, judged against home courses a solid 4.0.
@elmotero
All I can say is WOW... And the altitude will take its toll playing a couple of rounds. (at least for old people like me who live at sea level) Mystical course, Mayan dialect spoken by indigenous locals! Paul McBeth Foundation is "World changing"...huge respect to Chris. Great work!
@saki209
It's Greatfull to have been able to play this course on vacation. It's HARD to find. The signage is small and not placed near the road. Due to losing GPS signal, I missed the correct exit. Cart friendly, variety of shots. .. great walk to play the course. Charged 25Q to play.
@bishopstreets
It was a mission getting to this place but it was worth it. The course is nice very clean and private very friendly host and I simply just loved my whole experience here. I'm definitely coming back.
@truddd
Does anyone have contact info for the course owner? I would love to play this course but don't have any discs on me. I'm thinking about going this weekend. Thank you!
@aschrum
Great course with shot variation, short and long holes, open shots on a very unbusy ball golf course. Great work Chris and crew in getting this course established and creating a local community of disc golfers in Guatemala!
@ttanarum
Pretty solid course given where it is. Thoughtful layout with a variety of different shots. Beautiful scenery. Would recommend everyone play here if they have a chance.
@dylanlopez
Such a fun course! The discs fly in the elevation - some bomber holes, some techie woods holes. How cool to play in Guatemala!
@hodgoutlet
(30th of February, 2024) 25 Quetzales per player per round. Beautiful view of the volcano, some friendly dogs around the property, working bathroom. Several baskets are in different positions, UDisc was mostly accurate. The Uber from Antigua was about 14 US Dollars. Ubering back you likely have to wait 30 minutes to get picked up.
@tompushesfaders
We had a wonderful time playing Monte Maria! We stayed in Antigua and were able to coordinate an excellent driver through Chris, the course owner. We were greated by a pack of puppies when we arrived ☺️. The course is a mix of shorter wooded holes and longer golf fairways. It is very well maintained and beautiful. A good mix of BH and FH lines. Bring your understable plastic! The elevation is no joke.
@juñior
Totally worth visiting this great course designed by Paul Mc Betts foundation. It’s on the skirts a volcano, amazing play, I was solo and took the bus, totally safe and fun,
@snidecashew
Great course in Guatemala. It would have a lower rating if I the United States but truly really can’t get much better given the limited courses in Central America. You can take a bus to Santa María de Jesús. Im guessing it would be cheap. I ended up renting a car-one day and a few rounds and you’re good!
@jsw244
I’m from America. I am visiting Antigua and had to play this course. It was more difficult than expected. It was about half an hour drive from Antigua. I hired a taxi to take me there, wait, and bring me home for 450 quetzals ($57). It was totally worth it. I felt safe the whole time and I played alone. The course plays around the golf course and I happened to run into a few groups of golfers. They were more than happy to share the course. Overall, I had a blast and recommend it to anyone!
@acemanbaskets
Great course design in a beautiful area. Very few ball golfers so there is little competition for space
