But as Am2s my sons and I could play with a putter and mid the whole course except a few fairway driver shots. Worth a visit for the view, but I’d look elsewhere or see if I could raise help if it was my local course. "

"Yes there is some longer grass. There are few defined fairways. You will want to have a variety of shots in your bag. The nice tee pads, beautiful scenery, great hole design and quiet setting more than make up for the fact this is a rugged course. "

"There's still some deep snow on first few holes but it gets better up top! There's even a few clearl tee pads. Beautiful course with some fun ace runs! "

"We went here when it was cold and windy and still really enjoyed the course. The overall course design was well thought out. It was a mountainous hike on some holes but manageable. The only downside was the next tee wasn’t always clear. Thankful for the tee indicators on each basket!"

"My first time playing this course as I'm from Iowa. Super fun layout with lots of elevation change. The one thing that could be improved is better tee signs. The current ones really aren't that helpful. Hit an ace in 13 so definitely will remember this course for a long time!"

"Great course. Love the technicality of it. Disc's were easy to find even off the fairway. Great hike and views as well! Holes 15 and 17 did not show up on Udisc for us so it took a little wandering to find them. Would definitely play again!"

"Pretty landscape is the only thing this course offers. Fairways are very underkept & covered in tall grass with a foot wide path to guide. Baskets are very hard to find with the signs providing no lead. Majority of holes are blind throws, combined with tall grass discs can be lost very easily. Basket placement seems done without regards for a proper fairway leading to overly difficult holes with very tight gaps due to foliage. "

"Awesome course in the black hills. All holes are fun technical par 3s (could be birdies or bogeys depending on lines). Signage could be better but Udisc app / distance / flags on baskets means pins are pretty easy to find. Dog friendly. Not overgrown compared to Midwest courses. In the woods so shaded. Definately in my top 10 favorite courses overall. "

I was scared reading some of the reviews but this course was a pretty laid back and beautiful hike, and the grass wasn’t too long and it wasn’t thick tall grass like you might see on a course at a lower elevation. Pretty easy to find your disc most of the time but not too easy. Overall the course wasn’t very difficult which made for a very enjoyable time."

"BEWARE: I walked into the tall grass on hole 1 with long pants, and within a few minutes had several bug bites around my knees. I'm also super bug bite prone, but heads up. "

"In order to be a 5/5 I feel a course must have: Good T pads & baskets, appropriate & accurate signage, clear fairways, challenging (trees, mandos, OB, elevated baskets, tight fairways, hills, water, rocks, long pro level holes), & unique (multiple Tpads or baskets, pyramid, hanging baskets, memorable hole). This course lacked: Tall grass & no water"

"Fantastic course. Beautiful, challenging lines, and a nice hike. My spotters had as much fun as I did. Note, some of the pin placements currently differ from what is on UDisc, but it was still pretty easy to follow. It’s a 5 star course with a spotter or familiarity. Perhaps lower if playing solo for your first time while the grass is high in spots. "

"Absolutely amazing! Be ready for a hike, and u disc very helpful But they do have these little tags on the bottom of each basket indicating need directions to the next tee off pad. However it may not seem like they are correct because of some of the terrain in between Holes. I absolutely loved it and I will 100% play it again. There were some amazing views that you earned along the way, when you get to the massive staircase it is not part of the course but I highly suggest walking to the top "

"WOW!!! Amazing. Beautiful layout. Tons of hiking so bring your boots and long pants will be helpful. The rough isn’t that, I don’t have a very strong arm and was able to hit most the drives with my putter or midrange, so just hit close to your line and you’ll be fine. The signs are confusing but use the App is fine. There’s also a really cool lookout up the stairs between holes 12 and 13, go check it out. "

"Beautiful course! Keep your udisk handy, as the maps are a bit worn and confusing. Most pins are within eyesight. Most have an arrow on the bottom of the base to next tee. Definitely recommend if you are here and want to play. Shoot over a major looking hiking/drive path. May recommend a spotter, but i soloed on my own roughly hour and a half with a special climb on 13 that you shouldnt pass on. Almost tripped over a deer on a back hole and finished my run just as i ran out of daylight."
