About the course

Inspired by its location near the elementary to middle to high schools, Paws to Claws is the perfect place for beginners (Paws) to start their disc golf career and advanced players (Claws) to fine tune their skills. This is why there is a Paw Par (eg, Hole 1 Par 4) and a Claws Par (Hole 1 Par 3). With 7 hanging baskets, thrilling downhill shots (Hole 2 we call the driving range because you will feel the urge to empty the bag on it every round), and uphill challenges (literally)--this course will test your accuracy, distance, and shot shaping curiosity. With saying this, it is also VERY forgiving with few to no places to lose a disc--you can develop your skills confidently. As Walt Disney said, "The best way to get started is to stop talking and begin doing." So, stop reading this description and get on out to the course! You, my friend, are up on Tee 1.

Not recommended for individuals with limited mobility

There are holes where players with limited mobility can play. Hole 18 you can quite literally have wheel-chair access to the tee (tee off on sidewalk in front of pad) and likely be able to play that hole. As for other holes, the terrain of the beautiful Appalachian mountainside is less welcoming. For a course with the best accessibility, visit Chasing the Chains Dunning Motor Sales Disc Golf Course at the Cambridge City Park in Ohio (1.2 miles from this course) where there is a paved walking path to every tee pad. We always want folks to come on out and chase the chains! Contact us and we will be sure to help you the best we possibly can!

This new course epitomizes the style of layout that should be in every community to encourage new participants. The 18 hole layout winds its way around the grassy areas of the school campus, making the best use of the topography and natural woods. The artificial turf tee pads are ample, however, there is no signage at this time. Rely on UDisc for navigation. Though no holes really push the bounds of technicality, the course designers love to nestle hanging baskets in against the trunk of trees and between branches, which encourages conservative approach shots to have the best angle for a putt. The open field shots are made more difficult due to the sweeping winds that push through much of the valley the course resides in. Overall, a real pleasure to play, I’m glad I explored this new course. Thanks for making it available.

Super fun course with multiple different shot shapes. Grass needs mowed badly but other than that very fun
