Seeing it was No. 2 in NZ and reading some of the reviews, I was really excited to play this course. Unfortunately it really disappointed. The holes are SUPER short save for 2-3 and the amount of people in the park who didn't know how to play (letting people play through, waiting for people to clear the hole before throwing, etc.) was incredibly frustrating. I'm all for growing the game but there were just tooany inconsiderate people - including 3-4 groups of people ONLY playing Hole 18 on repeat and none of the others because it's so short and it's a great family/beginner hole. Also the shot design on 75% of holes was pretty boring and uninspired. I understand and appreciate the history of the course and how that likely limits what they can do given the space they have available but I had high expectations and the view seemed to be the only reason this course is rated so highly.

If you’re using UDisc this place will be way too busy for you. Course is packed with beginners
@purdino
I’m sorry to say but with so many wonderful courses in NZ, this one is overrated. Incredibly pedestrian heavy and busy, perhaps on a quieter day I would rate differently. If you’re in town, give it a go, but please don’t call this the best course in NZ, there are so many better. It is pretty with mature trees and views of the water.

Great fun, & beautiful. The most beautiful course I’ve played. The course flow wasn’t great, tee pads are small, well maintained however.

unique

Easier but challenging at the same time. Super windy all the time

@leremy
Great course. Easy to navigate with U-disc. Fun shot variety.

Rented discs in town for $5 each. Beat up selection of RPM discs which was fun to try as the local NZ brand. Apparently the ice rink in the Queenstown Gardens also has them. Enjoyed seeing the Helix baskets from RPM as well after seeing on pro coverage. Course was stunning. Beautiful gardens, tall majestic trees, views over the lake towards imposing mountains. Course was a nice variety of shots, with mild elevation changes. Beginner friendly with some longer holes to challenge the intermediate player. Easy to follow and well maintained. Overall an awesome little surprise while staying in Queenstown on a hiking vacation!

@kuhe88
Definitely best NZ course

Short easy course but lovely
@logansh
Very nice short course through the woods. Some good technical shots and great scenery!

Use the New Layout 2020, smart layout and course is easy to follow. Watch out for other park users wondering through the course.

@lauried
Gorgeous views of the lake, can be very windy & challenging for many of the holes. Great city central course with 4 hrs of free parking, downtown only a 5 min walk. Excellent signage & Tee pads.

@garrettmuns
The course is super enjoyable and easy to navigate due to great signage. I wouldn't change a thing about it. City park golf at its absolute finest!
