This was a tale of two courses. Front nine is relatively open and straightforward with elevation change being a challenge, the back nine was more technical which made for a good overall experience. Some tee areas are concrete, some are dirt and some have tee pads that look like they’re set for either past hole locations or ones that have yet to be made. Needs some work on signage and way finding, having UDisc up is a must for finding your way.

Really cool course with plenty of challenging terrain. The tee areas are just dirt and don’t offer the best traction but the course overall is such a fun play for western Colorado that it is definitely worth making a trip out to play it.

Holes 1-10, and 17-18 are fun and unique with great views. 11-16 are painful to play, very overgrown and loads of mosquitos with the standing water.

The front nine is very open and boring with a lot of climbing. The back nine is a little more technical but overgrown and an unbearable amount of mosquitoes. The views were good for hole 4 though 7, there are better views at other courses so if you are traveling to play in Colorado choose a different course.

Why not ditch the wide-open holes and just make an awesome 9 hole in the woods?

Super hard to find your way around. You have to have the UDisc app or you will never find your tees. With better layout, it would be 5's all day! So hard to find your way to all the tees on the back 9.

Great short course conversion. Dirt tee pads could be better. Mosquitos heavily present in wooded section. Unsure why it gets as much hate as it does. Shots are challenging and views are great

Overall strange course. Wear closed toe shoes because there are cactus, spiky grass, and fire ants. Be ready for a climb on the front 9.

If you have a big arm, you have to play this. Gorgeous panoramic views with awesome bomber holes. So fun!!

With how exposed the course is, it would be nice to plan some holes that offer some shade.

Just needs teepads on a couple of holes and it would be 5 stars from me

Needs to be trimmed on back 9. Overgrown.

Well done Montrose, new baskets and tee signs, and some fairway upkeep. There are fun and varied holes. Just a few more signs to help with navigation and this could become a destination course.

A tale of two different halves. First half up the side of a giant bald hill, along the top, and down, down, down. The second half through trees and bushes. Plus over water shots. Great scenery and fun layout, BUT use UDisc because teepads and signs do not match up. Just played it again 11/23/22.. I totally agree with my first statement. Make sure to use UDisc because signage and tee pads are not well marked. UDisc was pretty good expect hole 9. Some pars and pin placements were off. Fun course.

Additional signage has been added, 2 different baskets on each hole. The wind always sucks here but not the courses fault. Always play it when I come to Montrose

Fun intermediate course. Prepare for a small hike up in the beginning, but the shot off the cliff is worth it!
