I'd say rip out the baskets and start over, but the baskets are so bad, recycling them would be a better idea. It's unfortunate, because this property is nice and the course has/had SO much potential. I can say it's strengths are it's inconsistencies, tees, shot variety, etc. It's weaknesses are it's consistencies, off brand Mach Ones, lack of maintenance, missed opportunity design elements. If in the area I'd HIGHLY recommend playing Stony Brook twice instead of here once. Having said all that, I was overwhelmed with nostalgia playing here. This is like most of old school NEFA courses and brings me right back to 2006 and finding the sport.
@smoney
Honestly a fun course. Fun shots and some cool rocky pin placements. The tees aren’t that bad, although some holes they were missing, but pretty flat areas. Layout really wasn’t hard to follow, all the baskets had arrows. A few signs were off. Course had a lot of big ferns in the fairway, but with a little attention and maintenance, this could be a great course. Not as bad as many reviews make it sound. Give it a chance if you’re in the area.
@nectaris73
Could use signage to get new guests to the first tee pad. Cell service is weak and walked around looking for 15 minutes before udisc finally loaded. Also tee 3 is mislabeled as 4. Again walked around looking for tee 3 for a bit before giving up.
@seabasssaidthat
The quality of the course has gone down hill all year. The tee boxes are terrible. There is no maintenance. Signage is inaccurate. The baskets are the lowest quality I’ve played. Someone has been snapping off signature arching birch trees because they can’t make mandatory gaps. They are not reinvesting any fees paid back into this course and less and less people are playing it due to the lack of upkeep. I refuse to buy a membership to the club due the declining course quality.
@tigleger
Course could use some much needed upkeep
@jamiemacphee
No service at the course mafenot hard to use then udisc map.hard to fund some holes. Active shooting range was distracting.
@ragsofflix
Fun layout, needs some downed limbs cleaned up. Gunshots quite scary while playing!
@smithjoshua
Great old-school course with some fun lines and nice birdie opportunities. While it’s definitely a woods course; there are still some chances to air out a fairway driver.
@drummey
The tee pads are rough, making run-ups nearly impossible. The signage is poor, making it difficult to find your way around. The terrain is a mix of hills, swamps, rocks, and dense leaf litter.
@stallain108
Course with some cool elevation changes and fun ace runs. Tee pads are being installed, slowly, but it’s happening. Not cart friendly.
@mandilyontiger
Unfortunately few tpads but easy to follow and a fun track. Needs some maintenance but nothing major
@seanlreid
Cool af
@craigmac420
Baskets are misnumbered. Not the best walking conditions. Lengths are way off and maps don’t really give any justice to where the baskets actually are. Most likely would not pay the 5 bucks to play again.
@cjrodriq
Course itself is not bad. I only played 9 so I didn’t see the back half of the course, but coming in on the way to the front 9 is like a river. Not much they can do about that unfortunately… tee signs are also wrong, they have stickers over them but the markers on the signposts and the baskets Say the wrong numbers
@ecov32
This course has a lot of potential but due to lack of foot traffic and upkeep it seems run down. Better tee pads and better fairway upkeep would be awesome. Careful of underground yellow jacket nests as always in woods courses almost had a run in on hole 5
@screvier
Needs a lot of work, after you hike through the swamp to get to hole 1, if you can get past the lack of tee pads on a lot of the holes and the constant sounds of guns going off right next to you there is some potential here.
@mcorron
Fun course, tee pads need some love
@remedy400
Decent course, tee pads suck
@bnorm2004
Decent course. In the woods, but not overwhelmingly tight. Some nice greens.
