About the course

Tee Signs are done! We’ve leveled most of the teepads and are also working towards fixing up the rest of them! Please venmo @TheBarnDG if you'd like to contribute towards these efforts -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Redesigned in July of 2023 as a beginner-friendly course with enough challenge for recreational players. The course utilizes 9 Patriot baskets for a full 18-hole layout (separate front 9 and back 9 loops). Please be cautious and courteous of dog walkers and residents who live on the property. Loaner discs are available by the first teepad. We are currently fundraising for improved Teepads. If you are interested in donating for course growth/maintenance, please email [email protected] or venmo @TheBarnDG.

History

During Covid, a group of men from CPC/The Barn began meeting at the church property with a portable basket to learn the sport and create fun (often funny) holes. The group and our interest grew, until we were able to pool our money and buy 6 baskets. We made an 18-hole layout using those 6 baskets and had a blast, but we knew we'd eventually want more. After buying 3 more baskets and receiving a grant through the town of Simsbury, we redesigned the course with 2 distinct 9-hole layouts (similar to Center Springs in Manchester, CT). We are still working to improve the experience, specifically by improving our tee pads, all while daydreaming about what we'd do if we got 9 more baskets.

Okay if you are in the area. Nice clear layout for 18 on 9 baskets. Fairways are very narrow so found myself trudging through long, wet grass. Pretty scenery and some gradual inclines and decline to keep it interesting.

Course on church grounds (public welcome). A very good course for beginners, with enough challenge to interest more experienced recreational players. One of the best “18 holes using 9 baskets” I’ve played, because good design makes for surprising variety between the two nines. Each nine can be completed in 30-40 minutes. Navigation aids are being installed - in the meantime, use uDisc. Detailed review at dgcoursereview.com
