@jehlman
Probably the tightest fairways in the Triangle. I’ve played enough courses to know when one is tough. This isn’t tough, it just needs some fairway clearing to become more playable. Numerous holes simply didn’t have a disc golf line to hit (looking at you 1, 6, and 9) while hole 7 should either be a par 4 or have a different basket location. All that being said, the tees, baskets, and signs are excellent. I think this course could “beat in” to a fun and tough 9-hole track but it needs a chainsaw to the fairways first.
@bradenthiel
Great little course, all the bad reviews were written by clowns that think amateurs should get birdy looks every where. Nearly every hole is scorable except maybe #9. The rough is brutal and the fairways are narrow. Popular park so there's an unfortunate number of people wandering through the course, but that's just how these shared spaces are. Sure beats not having a course at all. Thanks Knightdale
@koppieno
Great course. 3 warm up baskets. Quiet and cool on a hot day!
@mthieman1026
Maybe some small brooms on the tee pads to sweep pine needles. But that’s just nit-picky. Trimming around some of the rough on a couple holes, mowing would be good too.
@billsog
Only bad hole is hole 9. It doesn’t follow any disc golf throw shape for a par 3
@racertempo
Updating as they have cleared 1, 6, 9 pretty nicely so they are more reasonable shapes, but just look at the average scores, it’s tough….when a 9 hole course in a park like that should be easier and fun to help bring ppl to the sport.
@aggreen
Of the over 300 courses I've played, this is likely a bottom 5 track Seemingly designed by someone who doesn't play disc golf.
@asatchman
I love it when a small town decides to install a course, so I give credit to Knightdale for that! Great teepads and signs. Honestly, though, nothing about this course makes me want to play it for a second time. It's called the Gauntlet for a reason: It has 6-8' wide fairways with 90° turns and zero forgiveness if you kick into the THICK pine trees. My hope is that they will go back through and make it more playable.
@tallestboy
Too hard for a neighborhood course.
@bucodolares
Very technical course that feels unnecessarily tough, would be more fun if fairways were 5'-10' wider
@izaacf
It seems like they are changing the course a little. Hole 1 is IN the woods in front of the tee, NOT on the other side of the woods as is pictured on the sign. Other than that the signs are pretty accurate. Very tight fairways, some, as others have mentioned, are nearly impossible to get through.
@jedwavis
Cut back a few trees and place would be really fun. Add a tenth hole back to the practice area for a fun open bomber hole.
@paulcallaghan
This is SO hard to rate. The things that are great are teepads, signage, location. The lines are so bad however, that no one is going to play here until it’s fixed. My son is a pro and I’m an am and it doesn’t make sense for either of us. Huge waste of money until the lines are fixed by an actual player, there’s no way a disc golfer thought these pins were accessible.
@jmcguire
The reviews are far too harsh. Go play Wendell and tell me this course deserves a lower rating. Some very tight fairways, yes, that do really need clearing. 1, 2, & 9. Otherwise, excellent tee pads, excellent signage, easy to walk, and variety for both distance and shot type. It's not beginner friendly, but clearly effort was put into the design. I appreciate Knightdale putting this in and will play again.
@remingtonhough
Look, this course has potential. The hole designs are good concepts, but it needs to be refined badly. You just can’t have an entire fairway be 3 feet wide with a 90 degree turn and expect it to be a par 3. There is a difference between tough designed holes that are refined and just cutting 3 trees to create a “tight fairway”. Also, parking lot for the course is not where maps takes you fyi.
@mlstcla2
Location is great. There’s a ton of potential and could be one of the best in the Raleigh area with the space provided. Overall, the initial install of the course is pretty poor. Tee pads are great, the signage is good (except for hole 8-9, easy to find with udisc but everyone doesn’t have that), fairways are narrow (less than 6’ on some spots and nearly impossible shots) and the rough is tough. Lots of cutting to do
