@eddiemando
I really liked the course but you have to be pretty healthy to go up the front 9 hills. Needs better tees and signs
@shaeddyn
I don't like to rate anything down, but as of Sept. 2024, this course is very rough. The front 9 would be near impossible without this app, though the back 9 had some tree marking to help you pick the right trail between holes. There are only a few remnants of Ted boxes, though all the baskets are on good shape. I am no expert and this is only the second course I've played on. And I know how frustrating it is to do upkeep when there are vandals that get a kick out of destroying other peoples' fun and property when they can get away with it. That is why I gave up putting out geocaches. So I get why courses go down hill like this. It is just a shame. Hopefully they will get a grant to fix it up some day. Lastly, it was a nice hike and the red course was a good ten thousand steps by the end of it.
@tdrenne12
The course had its pros and cons. I’ve always loved coming to Mountwood because it had nice facilities, so I had high hopes. However, the tees and signage were no where to be found. But, the course had really cool creeks, a decent hilly layout, and a awesome waterfall on the front nine.
@lgrummer29
No path markers, very few tee box markers, constantly in and out of the creek, very hard walking, would not recommend to anyone
@tmac0811
Better tee signs would make this course even better. Overall one of my favorite courses in the area!
@tylerox
Front nine was okay, decent signage but no tee pads. Back nine was bad, couldn't find tees for 10/11 and gave up.
@mlew34
Course needs some attention. We skip hole 17 because it's a blind shot and wayward disc will find some tall cabbage. Several trees need trimmed and tee box markers are gone in some area. Very challenging course.
@wharfrat213
Needs some maintenance the grass needs mowed at several holes and weed eating
@trippyhippy
Definitely worth the hike. Will be playing again
@jacobcrichard
Beautiful woods, physically challenging if you are off the fairway. Rough & rural WV disc golf at its finest.
@jakecarder666
Boy, “monster” indeed. That’s a hike. Remember to stay hydrated. Did see a snake or two, so be weary. 9/10 will play again.
@m0thman
Fun course, beautiful park! Can't wait to see/play it after renovations are done
@jam2dc
Getting better
@imsostone
No signs, Didn’t are tee pads. The layout of this course sucks if you don’t know your way around. Stopping at the park office doesn’t help since they don’t know the course well either. Wasted drive
@tinajoy77
I am giving three stars because the woods are very pretty but this course is rough. A few holes okay but some are just stupid. No signage can be difficult to find the holes and you better be ready to hike. I feel like with some adjustments there is potential here to make this a better disc golf course. I will also say I only played the front nine so I cannot say how the back nine of the course is. It can be slick on the hills for sure
@kayakwest
The Mudwood Monster would be a better name for this course. Front 9 are nicely laid out. Back 9 are confusing with some downright bad shots: hole 15 is just ridiculous. All in all a nice quiet walk in the woods tho.
@astrixx
Good course but some holes need worked on, hole 10 little rough
@ohioearthwalker
A really fun course with manageable lines for intermediate players. Could use some more signage and better tees. Udisc is slightly off, but still helpful.
@krazedrebel
Such a fun course. Challenging enough without being too tough! Easily my new favorite course! Bring some hiking shoes, because you will be doing some hiking! Wish I had this course back home in Ohio! Will definitely be back!
