About the Course
"The Sammy" at Madison County Recreation Department in Danielsville, Georgia is a 18-hole, free-to-play, public, intermediate-challenge disc golf course that is deceptively challenging, while being still manageable by newer players. A wide variety of wide open field shots, lightly & heavily wooded holes, steep up hills, sweeping down hills, over multiple creeks, and with a few OB zones. As "The Sammy" is in the county-maintained Recreation Department, it has great public restrooms, snacks & drink machines, benches, drinking fountains, and playgrounds throughout the course (and even a splash pad for kids, open in the summer). It is moderately disc-cart friendly (although hole #10 will challenge a bit), but it is not wheelchair accessible beyond holes #1-3. Total distance walking is 3.04 miles, with elevation gain and loss of about 220 feet. Equipped with maintained gravel tee boxes, Innova DISCatcher Pro baskets (installed on dedicated raised pedestals), and clear, high-quality, color signage & smaller white signs to point you to the next hole. Be very cautious for people on holes #12 & 13, and on holes #14 & #15 for cars.

"Fun layout, pretty good signage, mixture of long and short holes. Gravel tee pads take some getting used to but not bad overall. Be ready for a hike, several holes with large elevation changes "
