Short tee to long basket is best format for tee pads and signs. Long tee to long baskets best format for skill
@olorin
This course is highly underrated both here and on DGCR. With 2 tees and 2 baskets on every hole there are 4 permanent layouts. Out of the 210+ Virginia courses that I have played (1100+ total) Waller Mill is my #1 Top Favorite course in Virginia!
@stankycheeze
By far one of the best courses I've played. I went for long to long and so glad I did. It whoped me up a bit but well worth the trip here. So much fun
@gansonsalmon
Pretty much flawless. I love the turf pads, personally. Two sets of pads and baskets makes me want to come back a lot and play all the shots. Great course with the right amount of challenges
@poormtnkid
Played long-to-long. Highly technical woods golf, well marked OB, easy to follow with UDisc. Only downside is I feel that the long baskets were somewhat of a poke and hope situation for the second shot. If you are only going to play once I would go long pads to short baskets or short pads to long. I’m a 950 rated player and short +15(with only 4 discs and no warm up. Clear a few trees on those long baskets would make it more enjoyable.
@borser1
Fun and challenging course. Very wooded and hilly course with no open holes. Pretty technical throughout but there are good throwing lines. Some good shot variety and interesting holes. My only complaint is upkeep on the course. Needs signs fixed/replaced both at tee pads and way finding. But most holes had signs and turf tee pads. Two tee pads and basket options on each hole. Fun course, could be a 5 star course with some updates
@tblair10
Literally no complaints, challenges woods course with elevation, water, sharp variety and the basket is always in the coolest spot it possible could be with some tricky greens ma d just everything you could ask for. It doesn’t have any interesting baskets, elevated mounting or built up greens but it’s just a fantowoods course that needs to be played and known
@niceparsave
Needs some TLC. Signs broken, sometimes it's hard to find your way to the short/long pad.
@cptfury
Recourse excellent lines you’ll have fun whichever course you play some of the signs are not up but you know what it’s still beautiful park
@samuelbush
I’ve played over 100 courses around the country, and this is as good as any. Extremely challenging, trees everywhere, some water, but fair. I usually play longs, but the short/shorts were by themselves as hard as any course. I can’t even imagine how hard the long/longs would be, Took 1.5 hrs to play the shorts by myself.
@eds17001
A fair number of the pars and apparently distances are off. Besides that, generally reasonable gaps, good upkeep, and well marked holes with two baskets and two tees per hole make this a great woods course for all skill levels.
@markgoppert
Upkeep. This is a beautiful course. Requires a lot of upkeep, which appears to be little to none. Especially around the tee pads.
@ft689ss
My favorite course from Virginia Beach thru Richmond. Heavily wooded, elevation, creek crossing, holes 5 thru 10 play around a lake. Missing and broken tee signs, and majority of long tees in poor shape keep my rating where it's at.
@djtommyp758
Great woods course, very tough when playing the longs, lots of elevation, you will definitely get your exercise. Great tee pads.
@steveplus6
Very challenging, couldn’t finish due to crazy rain
@dgmaverick
Fantastic course. Challenges you to throw a good variety of shots.
@sailmaster
Awesome course... the fairways are wooded but fair. Nice, clear directions to next basket so you don't have to go wandering through the woods.
