I started playing disc golf in my hometown of Holland, Michigan, in 2009 with a starter set and the coolest, fastest disc on the rack at my local sporting goods store: an Innova Groove (which I only pretended that I could throw). I started getting serious about learning how to play in 2014 when I moved to Oregon for graduate school. I've been hooked ever since. I joined UDisc as a data scientist in the Fall of 2020 after completing a PhD in Mathematics at the University of Oregon, and I am now based in Zeeland, Michigan.
