It’s really disappointing to put hundreds of hours of work into designing a course, advertising it, hosting a tournament, sharing data with Northwood (owners), and trying to create a relationship with these folks only to have them pay their landscaper who has no experience with disc golf to install the course. The layout is dull, there are dangerous tee locations that are way too close to the previous basket, basket sleeves are installed incorrectly (baskets are too tall on many holes, there are no tee signs, tees are natural, and there is no signage whatsoever. On a property that was purchased for hundreds of millions of dollars, with a state of the art concert venue, brand new apartments and restaurants, and all kind of other high dollar infrastructure, it’s incredibly disappointing that Northwood cheaped out on disc golf in one of the biggest disc golf cities in the world…especially when they had experienced people that wanted to be involved. Hopefully they will see these reviews and reach out to actual disc golf course designers who know what they are doing because there property is top tier and the opportunities are limitless and what we are stuck with is the worst 18 hole course within 30 miles of town. What a letdown.

Since the course is still being installed there are certainly some improvements that could be made to tee areas, signage and flow. That said, this is an open course on an exceptionally pretty property and a fun contrast to most of the courses in the Charlotte area. So cool to see a disc golf course out here. Watch for pedestrians and have some fun!
