Here’s what you get from paid courses that’s not common at free courses-Beautifully maintained fairways, managed rough (mowed or burned seasonally), benches and garbage cans at EVERY hole, bathroom. Dane county parks are great. Buy the pass to get Vallarta Ast too. This course is often rated easy, but can be deceivingly hard with the elevation and wind. Go in the morning to avoid wind. Play the long pads for more shot variety. You can adjust your pars to all 3 but it doesn’t really matter what the pars are. Generous pars allow women, kids and beginners to feel less defeated. You’ll almost always see or hear sand hill cranes.

Great for open fairway shots. Rough is thick, but fairways are generous, so experienced players should be fine. First 10 holes mostly the same, not challenging the bag. 12 - 14 in the woods were essentially unplayable for us due to mosquitoes. We ran through them, lol.

Beautiful. But some skeeters in the woods.

Well manicured, great (multiple) tee pads, and easy design. Keep it on the fairway or make sure you wear pants, because the brush is no joke. The distances make it fun for everyone and a good up shot type practice for longer arms. You’ll have a good time!

Somewhat repetitive, but I liked the vibe just outside the city. Mosquitos on the wooded holes were insanity. Would be a great course to play in the fall when the rough thins out and the leaves start changing color!

Sweet course! 18 holes with long/short tees every hole to 1 of 3 pin locations. Garbage every hole, everything nice, new & clean. Multiple groundskeepers prepping for tourney next day while I played. Mostly open w/ elevation and certain lines

There are a couple wooded holes but a majority including the first ten are either up or down a hill.

Five holes in the woods and the remainder are wide open. A number of elevation shots which are fun but not much penalty for being off center with your drives.

If you’re a disc golfer from out of town, and wondering which Madison area course you should pay to play. Play Elver. This one is boring and you’ll be left wondering what you paid $8 for.

Pretty park, layout/design is repetitive and straight without much variation. Uphill, downhill, repeat.

Great course. Beautiful prairie course. Elevation change and wide groomed fairways. Generally the same shot for about 12 of the holes. Only 4 woods holes mostly open.

Really liked this course! Was expecting to be underwhelmed with it mostly being open prairies and was really impressed by the elevation changes, shot variety and amazing maintenance of this course! I can’t wait to come back!!

Fun course. The couple holes in the woods are nice. Lots of oaks are being planted. It will be a beautiful course in the future. Still fun now.

Open and fair lines. Not many trees in the fairways. In the summer the grass can get high and it can be hard to find a lost disc. Almost always windy.

Capital Springs is a lovely place to throw your discs into a gorgeous prairie.

Bring bug spray! Avoid rough at all costs.
