About the course
Update: The course went through a deep cleanup. Many of the fairways may contain large piles of brush/branches. If disc lands in brush take relief behind pile without penalty.
East Metropolitan Disc Golf Course is a wooded and technical course with dense rough and both Red and Blue tees. The course is located on the edge of East Metropolitan Park in the Austin area.
The Blue Tees are considered Championship Level, and the Red Tees are a great place for the Intermediate player to test their game. You don’t need a big arm for the Red Tees but do need to throw accurately.
Though the course is not built through any playgrounds, fields or trails, the occasional hiker, dog walker or wildlife enthusiast may wander through.
East Metro DGC was the home of the final round of the 2013 Texas States final round with a lead card of Paul McBeth, Ricky Wysocki, Nikko Locastro and Paul Ulibarri. (You can find the round on YouTube.)
There is a practice basket. Hole 18 brings you back to hole 1. Restrooms are available before hole 1 and after hole 18 in one of the nearby buildings by the end of the parking lot.
