If the city put in tee pads I’d love the course far more. It’s a fine pitch and put regardless but could be very fun and unique for the city

Forest Hill has potential, but it’s definitely a work in progress. There are no definitive tee signs aside from simple numbered markers — no hole maps or distance information. The course does have a basic metal frame setup to indicate hole placement, but beyond that, it’s pretty minimal. There are no concrete or turf tee pads; players are throwing directly from worn-down ground, which has taken a beating over time. Every hole I played had standing water or puddles throughout the fairways, so drainage is a serious issue here. Hole 3 showed some promise — it requires a low, skipping shot to navigate effectively — and overall, the layout hints that this property could support a solid course with the right improvements. There’s a ton of open space, and if the city or park owns more of the surrounding land, they could easily expand past Hole 6 and loop it back for a full 18-hole setup. I’d highly recommend installing either concrete or turf tee pads for consistency, along with updated tee signs that include the hole layout and distances. Those two upgrades alone could take this course from about a 2/5 to a solid 4/5. One last note — the drainage issue affects every fairway I played. Fixing that would likely cost more than expanding the course itself, but it’s something to be aware of before heading out.
