I get to play here about once a year or every other. I was not sure I wanted to play here today based on reviews, but I think the reviews don’t do it justice. Yes, it is not the old Carroll Marty. I miss the holes on the other side of the creek. I was alone in the course, so maybe that made it more enjoyable, but I have played worse courses. It’s a good putter/mid course to practice those type of shots. Overall, not too bad.

Interesting new layout - hoping for long and short pads.

Carrol Marty used to be a great course. This is the course I learned to play on and the shorts were fun and longs had lines that you couldn’t find at any other course. Unfortunately there have been two redesigns that have made it worse and worse. Many players have suggestions to the city of Ames and they were ignored to put this pitch and putt course in. Just play stable run

Good course just doesn’t quite feel as good as the old course.

Great layout with new lengthier tee boxes installed. Winter baskets only but it’s February. Would like to try in full foliage! Gotta be a gem

This course is a travesty. Beautiful hole design and terrain ruined by lack of signage and maintenance. Funny joke deliberately having hole lengths wrong too. I drove two hours to play and walked off after nine.

Relaxing beginner- intermediate course. Several trees for long tees need trimming.

Needs new tee signs and fairways are a little overgrown in the wooded areas.

My home course and one I play frequently. Fun hill shots, a few woods shots and a couple bombers on the back nine. An Ames staple for sure.

Was a 5 star, I’m placing this as a .5 until they return it to the old layout. New layout is one of the worst courses I’ve ever seen.

Seems to be under construction again, signs missing some baskets and tees moved from layout as of 4.20.25

That update ruined it. Hopefully they make this right.

We're still waiting on the sign fabricator, I guess. Still need to complete some other stuff. Should be completed next Spring.
