Tee pads were large and well maintained. For moderate/beginner level players you just throw your disc and pray you don’t hit a tree. Every hole has significant tree hazards. Some of the longer blue basket holes are part fours that play like par fives. Because of the significant number of trees, it’s very easy to go double or triple bogey very quickly. The layout is creative, but the tight oak forest fairways become monotonous. It’s also completely flat. Might be the most well-maintained course in the Traverse City area, but 100% forced holes makes it a little underwhelming.

This is a fantastic course that is pretty hard for the average rec player. I’ve played it four times, mostly short tees, and I don’t need to go back.
