About the course

Experience the thrill of disc golf deep within the woods of Northern Michigan! This course offers a full 18-hole course with a wide variety of throws, challenging players of all levels. The front nine being more beginner friendly in a woodsy park setting and the back being through challenging fairways surrounded by towering trees, perfect for testing your accuracy and shot shaping. Once you enter, parking is about 100 yards down the road at the first right. There will be a gate and openings to park anywhere to the right. Hole 1 is at the end of the dirt road on the left. All holes have mulched pathways wood tee. The entirety of the course winds itself throughout Mr. Joe’s Campground, where there could be campers in the surrounding sites so please be careful and respectful. Trashes are available so please pick up as you go and protect the natural space for everyone to enjoy. The back nine can get thick throughout the summer but so ahead and forage the shrubbery to locate your discs. Have fun, enjoy, and see the bulletin at the beginning if you’re looking to camp!

This course could be a nice little spot with just some tweaks. While I'm not the course designer and can't speak to their intentions, this being on a campground I think I would try to lean into it being beginner friendly. Front 9 isn't too bad, and the lines are clear. For the back 9, there is clear lines but it is very punishing (aka thorny) if you are even 5 feet off the fairway. I don't mind tight lines on the 190 foot holes. But a 464 ft S Curve and 370 ft lefty dogleg with a fairway the size of a walking path? I'm just not sure that is the right call for a course that is on a campground and likely will have newer people playing. Make the back 9 fairways a bit wider, get rid of the thorns specifically, make way finding a little easier, and update to a smart layout on UDisc and I think there is a great little spot here. Credit to the owner for putting the course in, hoping to see some updates over time!

I strongly believe if the back 9 had 10’ extra cut on each side of the existing paths, this course would be really good! Also different teepads would be great. They are slippery when they are wet. Overall it was fun and I enjoyed it! Also, there are two “par 4s”. Hole 13 and 15 play as par 4s. Highly recommend laying up to the “landing zones”
